Trying to get back to modelling, and I got that itch again when I went to a show. Long story short, I've been wanting this kit for a long time now, but never bought it due to some serious fitment problems I read of online. Here's the kit and the stance I'm looking for. Not sure if I'm gonna get it as low as it is on the photo, but it looks pretty dang good. Apart from the kit, I got some pretty neat detailing stuff. Gonna be my first time working with photo etched parts so I wanted to get some easy to do upgrades. Got myself one of those predrilled distributors since I can't seem to drill out the kit ones no matter what. Excuse the german on the packaging, but I'm prettt sure you know what you're looking at lol. Paintwise, I have two options. Either a red and black two tone, or a matte grey (primer) with black fenders and some rust. Not sure about the wheels either, as I don't like the ones that came in the kit. Lucas.

There were a lot of these trucks around when I was a youngster. You will like the pre-drilled dist. Be careful with the PE parts Good idea to lay it on the sticky side of a piece of tape when you cut it so the part will stay on the tape and not wind up on the moon. There are a lot of PE pieces on the moon that I have cut.

That will look awesome mate, that stance IS achievable if you work at it, do a bit of homework... so to speak. The easiest way would be to channel the whole chassis. Great tip with the tape/PE parts Dennis, i've also lost most of what i have tried to use, now i might try again with some.

Small update. I've been able to work on this for a day now, and I have to say: Man it feels good to be back!. Started with the engine, and I didn't expect to get this much done. In my excitement, I forgot to take pics of the bare engine so I'll kick off with some other ones. First of all, the color I used is a Inox spray I originally bought for the winter wheels on my 1:1 but since I had some left, I used it on this. Valve covers and aircleaner got a base coat of silver, which I shot some gloss black over. When dry, I carefully sanded the black on the ribbed parts so the silver shows through. Some more parts added. Testfit in the car with the aircleaner added. Lucas.

Let's talk paint. I knew from the start I wanted to do a two tone since it's quite a large area to be done in a single color. I started with a champagne color on the bottom part, and used a metallic black on the roof. Yes I know the hood is a little rough, but I had to sand down a few spots that had some dust in it. The plan from here is to do a lace on the top, and a stripe to separate the black and champagne. Lucas.

Not a lot of progress, but progress nonetheless. I started by putting a couple of layers of clear on so I could tape off the stripe between the black and champagne. After that dried and cured, I taped off the stripe and sprayed 2 coats of metallic silver on. Gonna let it cure, apply another coat of clear and move on to the roof. Lucas.

That looks great Lucas. The stripe really sets off the two main colors.

Thanks guys!
Deecee, that stripe is painted. I don't have BMF since it's pretty hard to get in my area.
