Either I'm misunderstanding this or something, but I've seen it mentioned several times. While describing a painting job, the poster would say they'd shot a single coat of primer on the last coat of color to make the color "pop" prior to the clear coats being applied. WTH does this mean? Certainly I couldn't leave a coat of my Tamiya fine white primer on top of my color? Does it mean to do this after a couple weeks and the color is completely dry, then shoot the coat of prime and sand it off with 4000 or something so the paint isn't damaged? I'm all for a glossly finish and still haven't gotten a perfect peel-less color topped by clear. I don't want to make it any harder. I'm still light years away from even attempting a finishing kit type of sanding on the clear then polishing. Thanks for clearing this up

Never heard of that. Just doesn't make sense to cover a paint job in primer.

Never heard of that tactic. Doesn't compute. The only thing that should be going over your final coat of color is a clear coat.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm already getting static from the wife and kid from spending too much time on boards already LOL. I wish there was a way of prioritizing minor questions from major or urgent ones here. Having to go to a specific area to post a question/comment/etc. makes it easy to get lost and lose time waiting for a reply. I send PM's sometimes, but I don't want to abuse someone's good nature. That happened recently on another board and although there was a public apology in a post about it, I've never heard from the person since. Bummer. I guess I'll keep searching for the source of this question so we'll all learn something. Now it's off to resin world to gear up for this latest body courtesy of Iceman!!!
