I had a pleasant surprise this morning while sorting through a drawer of old letters. I found a amazon giftcard with 50 quid still on it so now have even more kits coming home. I went for one that I've been waiting to drop in price and a couple I've been looking at as something a bit different to normal for me. So on their way to me is 3 revell kits comprising of a vw golf/rabbit mk1, a motorcraft thunderbird pro stock and a tweedy pie as the 3 built on here look really good, and Dennis' (BigD) story about his one just made me want it even more

Surprises like that are nice aren't they. Tweedy Pie is a tricky build. Be careful taking the parts off the sprue. I'm glad you liked mine. Mom sure did too.

I think it was the story behind your build that made it stick in my mind Dennis, When my mom bought that kit for me Les I was only 13 years old and the body shop job was my first real job. I never forgot the look of disappointment on her face when I told her I couldn't build it because it was too hard. I thought about that kit for many many years and how if I got the chance again I would build it for her. When I did build it, so many years later, the happy look on her face when I gave it to her was worth the wait. When she died I went back to Illinois and brought it home. It is one of my prized models and has it's own special place on the shelf.
