Hi Everyone!
I'm back into modeling at age 43 after a 30 year hiatus. I've been back into the craft now for a little over 6 months, and I am just loving every second of it. For me, the greatest gift is the pleasure of the build. The paint, the cut, the sand, all of it. I've been making models for family and friends, taking cars they own or have owned and putting all the care I can into them. It's been really rewarding. I've gotten to know a couple of really cool guys at the local hobby store who have been very encouraging, and have helped me get started. They've even been displaying some of my finished products under glass. In fact, they called me one night saying some lady came in wanting to know how much I wanted for the Ferrari 599 GTO I built. I was shocked! Of course, I didn't sell it, but what a compliment. Here's a car I did for my mother, she used to own a 66 pony blue Mustang. I couldn't find the right spray, so I hand painted the interior and exterior. This was my first serious build. I know its a little rough, but its the thought that counts.
I can't wait to get to know other members here, learn all I can, and contribute wherever possible. Thanks again for the invitation and the welcome. Nice place y'all got here!
