It might be worth trying the marker on some scrap sprue, and giving it a wash with the tamiya smoke. Never actually tried it but it could blend the marker. It's all looking pretty cool though, the grille really stands out like it's real

Thanks Les - yep, already hit them with smoke. So next up is to try and "smear" it if I can, otherwise, lots and lots of more smoke should do it.
Good enough for the girls I go with anyways!! LOL

OK Gang - Wow!! has it been a busy weekend! It just flew right on by!! Was a good one, except for my Nittany Lions getting their helmets handed back to them from Michigan, AND the Eagles clean slapped the silly out of my Steelers. We had a great Saturday morning - was over 8,000 people in downtown OKC for the Annual Alzheimer's walk. But then, the rains came, and honestly, that was perfect for me. I really got after this build, knowing I am down to the final days. Looks like I should have the completed thread up just in the Knick of time the end of this week For now, here are a few last pictures I will post on this thread. All suspension worked in and touched up. Engine is in and finished. Glass and interior are installed. I also tried to paint, with various colors, the underside of the chassis, at the exhaust ports, to try and represent heating and smoke damage if you will. I made some custom decals - and these were applied, clear coated and polished. I also throw in some smaller, contingency decals on the shocks, struts and body. Knowing Frank liked NASCAR, (he had bought some die casts from me a year or better back), and knowing his favorite driver was Earnhardt - I threw in a smaller, remember 3 decal. I made "KNARF" decals for the tailgate and the hood, and am working up one more surprise, if I can get it done in time. Otherwise, she is about to be finalized. Here is what I have to show, ending with a sneak peek of the body......

Thank you Les and Mike. I wanted to make some decals all Frank's own. Had to search through his posts to find a couple pictures of his builds to get one that was good enough of his monkey he had in a lot of his builds. This was his shop monkey on the wall - Punkybutt Customs They were strenuous to make for sure. I had to keep magnifying the original picture, using paint on the computer, and slowly erase everything but the monkey picture. That was like (2) evenings, staring at the computer, very slowly erasing the background with the mouse - LOL Then I thought, hey - we all loved his Avatar, so I copied it from here, and made those as wells, LOL
