Hi all, sorry this is a long story,Im suddenly thinking I know why my models are turning rubbish putting 2 and 2 together. I went for an eye test yesterday. They do a pressure test, they did it 3 times as they didn't like the results and told me to go back in a fortnight to do the test again, then I did another test for my peripheral vision, which they did twice and have told me to go back half an hour earlier on my next visit so they can do the test again, if I fail the tests again they will be sending me to a specialist. The problem is in my left eye. 7 yrs ago (I head gardener, I say that there is only me now but at the time there were 3 others) and I stood on a rake which had been left the wrong way up (not by me) it hit me in the left eye so hard I lost vision in that eye so my missus drove me to a and e by the time I was seen my eyesight was starting to return, they checked it all over and asked if I drove I said yes and they said I was not to drive anymore till I had the appropriate glasses as my eyesight was below the standard to drive (I never even knew) now I'm thinking have I ruined my left eye, the optician seemed quite worried with the test results and I have noticed when modeling unless I'm right under the light I can't really see what I'm doing. I hope I don't loose my sight, that will really bugger my modeling up.

I sure hope a new prescription of eye glasses will help Ken. Losing eyesight is a big fear of mine as well.
A few years back, my wife and myself both had what they call Lasik surgery. It was painless, but kind of freaky. What they do is literally slice your upper eye lens and pull it back. Then they cut away a layer of the eye that has gone bad, kind of like a tear away on a racing car windshield. The bottom layer is then like new again, they put back the upper lens, and you pretty much keep your eyes closed most of that day and night, but in a couple days I was back to work and could read again, without the need for extra light and holding what I was reading a mile away from myself.
If this may help you, you may want to check into it. It was about 2,000 dollars an eye, but I have heard it is much less expensive these days. But I must forewarn you, I am not totally pleased with my end results. As I now still need a bright light for reading a lot of things, especially like the small print on a prescription jar or something. And, my night vision took a hit for the procedure, I do not like driving at night now, I can, but things are out of focus, so I steer clear of doing that as much as possible.
It really all depends on what the doctor tells you, whether or not you would be a candidate for the Lasik surgery. Like I said, it has made a difference for me, at least I can read again, and it has helped to bring the model hobby back to me as well, for how long, who knows, but I will take what I can I guess! Lol

Hi all just an update had all the tests redone and the lower quarter of my left eyes peripheral vision is missing they took a picture of my retina and all looks OK so I've been referred to the hospital but the pressure in that eye is high they think I may have to have eye drops to lower the pressure or I may have to have a small operation on that eye to releive the pressure (apparently the pressure distorts the eyeball and can have various effects this being one of them) so not a real worry either way.

Hopefully the drops will help so you do not need surgery. But does sound like better news!
