I have never painted with nail polish, always paint. My wife found a really cool color and thought it would look great on a car. How much ( bottles ) will I need? What do I cut it with ? Will it need to be cleared ? Can I buff it out like paint ? Any and all help will be appreciated.

What i do is just treat it like an Auto paint, I thin it with a quality multi purpose thinners, and clear coat it with Automotive acrylic clear. Some nail polishes are pretty transparent, so if going over silver, for a candy look, be prepared to put quite a few coats over it. or use a light base coat of something similar so it covers better. It also takes a little longer to dry, but still way quicker than enamel. There are many different types of nail polish, from acrylic to enamel, and i have only ever had 1 jar not want to play ball, and you will find this out when you mix the thinners, if it don't mix, toss it.
