Hi all well thanks to the generosity of michu (from another forum I am on) I have this kit to build. I will be doing it oob to try and regain some confidence. It is a massive kit (which again I thank him so very much for) my intention (assuming I don't ruin another kit) is when finished to take it apart and add more detail (given the size of this kit that should be more than possible) provided of course I don't ruin it. So wish me luck mates.    |

Oh well I wish I'd done a bit of research before I painted the engine it's a 61 series pontiac v8 and revells call out for engine colour is yellow(which as we all know is one of the weakest pigments) so after struggling to get a solid colour, I've discovered it should be light blue, now I have to strip it and re do it light blue (not too upset as I didn't like the yellow anyway.

That engine looks way cool Ken, as for the fan blade? does the kit have an electric fan on the radiator?? A lot of times the engine blade is removed
and a thermo fan is fitted, less drag on the motor apparently.
You mentioned pulling it apart once done for more detailing, good luck with that, that is where you will start to destroy it i reckon.
Take your time mate and detail it as you go i think would be the best way.

Thanks mate I'm just trying to build a kit without ruining it to try and get some confidence back which is why assuming I manage it I will then try detailing it up, I'm baring that in mind as I'm building it and making sure it's easy to take apart.

Yes , i think you have started with some of the ugliest kits known to exist, but that is just my opinion,
BUT, the end result has been outstanding on all of them !!!
Keep up the great work Ken, and be careful pulling it apart, as glue STICKS!

Artists acrylics were the colours I used, it might need a few coats of clear and sanding to level it, but I did thin them quite a bit so not many brush marks show.

Love this!!!!! And these are all Japanese style dragons with wings - SWEET!!!!!!!!!! two-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon The colors are popping out like crazy, and with a couple coats of clear - LOOK OUT!!!
So far you have my left arm just about matched - I have a red dragon, and a blue dragon tat wrapped around my left forearm. All we need is a couple green ones, and on orange/yellow one, and I will be the human match to your build!!!

I have a blue one and a green one, also a black and white one( the tattooist on my back has gone nearly blind so a tatt that will never be finished.
