The Annual American Graffiti Contest will kick off every year from now on. Done as the January MOTM it will follow the same rules and you will post on the MOTM thread as usual. The winners will have a place of honor here on these thread in the Hall Of Fame. This is a good reason for anyone who has never seen the movie or for anyone who just wants to see it again (for the 2nd,3rd,4th,50th,100th,1000th ) time to watch it. Find any car in the movie and build a clone, When you post your finished pictures , just tell use about the car, its role in the movie and where it can be found.
As always if you have a question ask the Judges. Follow the MOTM rules.
ADDENDUM : I have been asked to broaden the range of cars, so we are going to say you can build any 1930 thru 1962 ( the movie is set in 1962 ), but it must fit the theme of the movie, dont build a 57 chevy with a big block and a ton of aluminum add ons...they just didnt have that stuff back then. Watch the movie for ideas, ask the judges for clarification if you need it. Enjoy and have fun.
2015 - Ok for those who want to get a jump on next year. the theme will be "Ten Years After". Just imagine 10 years after the movie ended, 1972. did anyone rebuild Falfias 55? Is Johns 5 window Coupe in the junk yard do to crash with Drunk Driver? Steve married Laure what happened to their cars , the 58 Impala and the 59 Edsel? Again use any car from the movie or that era , give us a back story and build it "Ten Years After"

Okay, 10 years after....I have plans for that little VW bug (with one burned out headlight) that Penny Marshall's character drove. Remember Curt rode in the back seat for a short time until Penny throw him out!

I'll have to watch and see what I can cough up if anything.....Some wicked ways they had in that show and the cars....Not saying that I'm gonna be in the contest BUT, I can watch it again just to enjoy if not see something I could model!
Good memories tho watching the movie with my grandfather and grandmother when i was a kid.....

I remember seeing it when I was about 17-18 maybe? long time ago, that's for sure, might have to find it and watch it with my boy, and show him what really went on in the olden days.
