Picked up this 62 Johan Fury. It was semi built up but nothing except the motor and bumpers were glued. Problem is the guy painted it. Some really light blue color AND THICK! Trying to strip the body. Started with Purple Power, nothing after 5 days. Switched to Totally Amazing, nothing after 5 days. Switched to DOT 3 Brake Fluid. Minimal paint removed in 5 days. What kind of paint is this? Anyhow, is there anything out there that will remove this paint I have not used? I don't want to destroy this body and sand it down ruining scripts and trim but I'm running out of options, thanks! Chas.

I've been using stuff for cleaning baked on food from ovens, called "fairy power spray". It can be a little slow but It's taken all paint off for me

Where do I find it at Stitch? I'll see if I can find an american stockist, I'm in the uk so it probably has a different name. I got mine from our local post office but it's on amazon. I would do another search yourself but this is what your looking for.- www.amazon.com/Fairy-Power-Spray-375g/dp/B004WBEKBS -.You can get packs of 6 for about the same price if you do a search from your side of the pond. I spray it on and put it in a sealed tub the same as you would with oven cleaner, and when it has set into a gel, I respray and repeat. Dont worry about washing it off until the parts are clean but save whats in the tub, it still works, but it works best when it's sprayed on. I use dish soap and a toothbrush to wash it off, then a second wash with a clean soap and brush to be safe. It can bleach red plastic though but if your painting it anyway it's not a problem.

Any comments on oven spray vs. purple stuff? Is the oven spray any more effective? Not that I need any.
