I have a few 51 Bel Airs and Fleetlines. Want to get familiar with the kits before I start to customize the others with some ideas in my mind. Plus, I can't remember the last time I built one out of the box, let alone stock. This is going to feel like I'm out of my comfort zone. One of the colors of the 51 out of the showroom was Moonlite Cream. I didn't want to go out and buy it even though DuPont makes the color. I found this Modern Desert Sand from Model Master in my rattle can collection and its pretty close. Primered - first coat - last coat.....needs clear

That's a nice color for a stocker. Should look really nice. Can't wait to see it finished.

Looking good. The plug wires look pretty much alright except for maybe Cylinder #4, that one looks a bit long.

Very nice build! The body paint isn't "loud", but looks very clean and classy; especially with the BMF.

Yeah...fenders are not cooperating? Finished the interior though. Floor is flocked. Rest is white and Desert Sand like the body. This is my last post before I post the finished product.

WOW! That interior is super nice. I know it's a pain to get the arm rests and handles done since they are molded into the side piece.

Knarf - no. Lol. This is a stock build kit. Everything came in the box. Mr O - thanks. Yes a bit of a challenge. Had to take out the big guns...or shall I say, the tiny brushes.

Great build Ice, I think the color is perfect! Not to be critical, but about the wiring. I see what you mean, try to drape the wires down from the distributor and then up to the plugs instead of up and over. Kind of let gravity do the work.
Overall it looks like it's setting on the Chevy dealers floor...real clean.

The engine doesn't look bad except whoever mentioned cylinder #4 needed some attention, otherwise the whole build looks GREAT, and Ice, I take it you like me, only "glue" the distributor end of the plug wires? I drill a hole cut just a little longer then the distance and push them into the block....Should be NO reason of them coming out....
NICE WORK!
satch, NICE work on that straight 6!!!! It looks just a little used, and its "age" might add, NICE work too!
