Now that everyone has seen episode IV, V and VI, I'm, ready to show you episode 1! Plymouth made a long ram 361 and 383 back in 1960 and 1961 called the Sonoramic Commando engine. These engines are quite rare today since they were only available two years and were over shadowed by the 413 short ram engines and later the 426 Hemi engines. I have known for years that Johan made a few kits with this engine but I had never actually seen one. I decided to post that I wanted to buy one here on Jerryscherrys and Iceman came through big time with this complete engine!





I wanted this engine to look good on it's own, so I decided to replace the block with one from a Revell Charger. I even cut the top of the block down a bit since the 383 has a low deck height while the 440 block from the Revell kit has a raised block.










Since this build was all about the engine, I tried not to go "over the top" with the rest of the build. I choose the Revell 29 Ford for it's simple clean lines.




Next time I'll post the finished pictures in the completed section!

No I thought about it early in the mock up stage, but decided to only lower it a tad....

It's now complete and I hope to get some good pictures of it in the morning!
