Greetings all,
In addition to our miniature scale hobby, I am also fond of cars I can get in an take for a spin. A long time ago in a galaxy far away my dad brought home a project that was to be my first car. As with all projects, they require a specific blend of time and money. When I was growing up, we didn't have much of either. As I have grown older I have often pondered what to do with this car, and this morning my dad gave me an idea (one I had tossed around before) and just wanted to know what other people thought. The car in question is a 1941 Plymouth Sedan with the suicide doors on the rear doors. This car has the front and rear stubs from a Chevy Nova so it is already set up for a small block Chevy. I had thought about building a small block, building a Hemi, building an LS style engine, new gen Hemi, and this morning dad suggested turbo diesel. Now I have visions of this car screaming through my head and just wanted some input.
Take care and spike your hair

There's been a couple in uk custom car mag recently. I see nothing wrong with diesel in a car, but I tend to think they look a bit daft when the spew out black smoke. If you get from a early to mid 90's bmw or mercedes it's already rwd and some of the lower end models don't have all the computer nonsense to figure out, and some have decent power to start with. The ford transit van engines are getting popular to use too, but they are a bit underpowered. You might have to check if the subframes will take the weight as the diesels are pretty heavy too. I think ther eare rear drive conversion kits for the vw petrol engines, and diesel tuning is getting popular on the vw tdi engine so the conversion kit might work for it too.

I like warmachines idea too, but I also like the diesel idea, have you seen what Welder-up garage puts in his rat rods? Big ass Cummins diesels with turbo off the side, mega HP, but very costly too though.
