Thanks for the heads up. I've been using super glue, since by the time I assemble the parts they're already painted. If I used solvent glue I'd have to do a lot of scraping. I got super glue that's thicker than the usual stuff and it seems to work well on pretty much anything. We'll see. Gonna try the Wicked Colors pear yellow on this one.

I'll tell you what to get that I didn't have when I built this kit. I use super glue for everything but now I have found laserbond USA. it's on TV all the time ,it's clear, and only Dry s when you apply the UV light to it and then in 3 seconds, bang glued. No mess

Assuming this "glue" is going to be in between two parts, how do you get the uv light on it?

Assuming this "glue" is going to be in between two parts, how do you get the uv light on it? You turn the light switch on!!!!

OMG - I'm such an ass, just couldn't resist that one Sid - sorry man....
It is a good question though, I think it is just the heat that warms up both ends that activates the glue. I bought something similar at Walgreens last week, gonna give it a try here soon, but if you go the laserbond's website, you can get 2 of these, for 19.99 shipped.

You got me on that one, Crunchy. high-five-smiley-emoticon
I was looking at the customer reviews of this stuff on Amazon.com and saw lots of comments like these:
"The concept is great but the application has to be on the surface and not in the break itself so, first.. it will always be visible..."
"Does this work on China or porcelain?" Yes it will work, but super glue will work better. The liquid only cures where hit by UV light. If you dont mind a visible joint then use super glue where light cant reach, then Bondic on the outside of crack or break."
I'm not doubting what you say about the stuff working, Dave, but it would be helpful if you could explain in more detail how you use it. I'm certainly not ruling it out as a possibility.

Aha. Thanks. I remembered you had mentioned this stuff before but I couldn't find the thread. Thanks. its perfect for chrome and glass. Works as body filler.stick a piece till you glue. I've built a couple whole kits with it and it works like a charm unless like you said you can't get the UV to it. Otherwise, perfect . laserbond 2000
