I have been working on a GMC Syclone kit for a while now. I made a ton of progress and everything was going great until I realized there were no decals in the kit. Not a problem, email Revell and they should send a new one, right? Wrong. This kit has been discontinued and parts are no longer available. No big deal, I'll still paint it black but it won't say "Syclone" on it. Now that interior is done time to paint the body. Paint cracks and peels off of the primer after applying clear. Again, not a huge deal I'll strip it after a bath in the Purple Pond and start again. This sequence happened about 4 times. I glued the mirrors on before I painted the cab the first time and after the first strip the mirrors kept falling off until they finally broke. I was able to get them glued back on but I am almost thinking about removing the mirrors altogether and not deal with it. At that point I shelved it for a while to work on something else. Took a chance and bought some new paint and clear to repaint the Syclone and now it looks awesome. Topcoat so clear you think it's still wet. I spent last night putting the rest of the truck together and FINALLY thought I was in the clear, all I had left was the ground effects to glue on. This morning I tried to glue one side on and the rear ground effect was bowed so it stuck out at the front and rear. Fix: lay truck on its side and balance paint jars on it to hold the panel down. after the old sh*t, shave, shower routine I came back to the desk to find that side was dry. GREAT!!! One more side and this one is D, U, N, DONE! Same problem with the rear ground effect as before so I figured I would do the same fix. This time the jars wouldn't balance and the truck fell on the floor with parts flying everywhere. I will finish this kit but some of these parts won't be re used because I would have to dismantle the entire thing. WHEW! Thanks for listening, end rant.
