My good friend asked me to build a model of his sister in law's company logo truck for her birthday in Sept. Soooo...... I picked up what I saw on her web page..... and then I saw her business card! Two different trucks one is a 50 Chev and the other is a 55 ford. Soooo.... I'll build 'm both. starting with the chev. If the Ford ends up being a curbside .... well it fits ( sorry ford guys just kidding )I'll try to shrink 'm to fit... next time Little dissapointed in casting lines and dimples , but, wtvr sand sand sand and get it ready for primer Attachment Deleted

These are neat old trucks. Can't wait to see what your doing with it. I just started building again after a very long hibernation. Started an AMT kit recently and noticed the same thing about lines and injector pin spots. Not to mention chroming on the chrome parts is wasted because removing them from the tree, and then to clean them up to be useable, destroys most of the plating. Don't know if the quality in manufacturing has declined or if I just remember things differently. Anyway, to look at the bright side, it allows us to become more intimate with our creations.

You have a great way of looking at things Skip. I wind up building a while usaully finishing one or two old projects and starting three or four new ones, then take a short break...(usually a couple of years!!) Anyway I remember things a little differently in the old days too. Like when BMF first came out, it was as bright as the chrome trees. I remember deburring the chrome parts and appling the BMF and you couldn't tell! I just bought some BMF last week that had "ultra bright chrome" on the package that looks to have a satin finish! AK

Most realistic paint to use for chrome is Alclad. It's not fake shiny but if applied properly, provides the most realistic look, hands down.
