Has anyone build the Showboat Dragster that Tommy Ivo drove? I started this one and thought a good way to start was to build all 4 engines before I painted them. 2 engines face forward and 2 face backward. Now, my problem is there are 4 different oil pans and I don't know which engine goes where and which 2 get mated to each other. This is a photo of all 4 oil pans. This is the instructions. Can anyone tell me which engines get mated together? And which ones face forward and reverse?

The last two oil pans have holes in them, the holes are there for a reason, look on the instructions for where the holes on the oil pans mount to. I hope this helps you out, good luck with the build!

If I'm reading the instructions correctly, step 3 show oil pans with an indentation for that rod on the engine and they look to go together. The oil pan in step doesn't have that. Plus those oil pans seem to be cut at an angle according to the pic.

Now that Ice mention that, those two center engines go together and the two end ones go together, also look for those holes on the instructions

It's obvious that each one is different. The angled pans clear the frame rails. The two with the cans go on the engines facing the rear. What you have to decide is do the pans with the holes goin the front or the rear. You don't provide that view in the instructions, but it should be obvious when you look at the frame.

Thanks for the help about the oil pans with cans and without, not sure what those are supposed to be. Still trying to test fit and see which ones have the holes and which ones don't. I wish I would have taken note of the parts on the tree before I put the engines together.

I do know that pain jk - hard lesson learned, but now, if I remove parts for paint, a lot of the times I will throw a sticky note with the past number from the decal sheet on it.
Good fail safe to do, especially when you shelve something for a length of time

I think that is what happened here. Not sure when, but I did start this one a while back. Now that I have my little model room in the house I get to put some time into the hobby and picked this one back up.

Just keep a fiddling and a faddling with it - you will get it figured out. Nothing like a challenge!!
