2015 went by without an eBay challenge. In 2016, the first 3 month contest will be the third installment in the series. The eBay Challenge III 2016. In the second part of the series, we allowed anyone to participate as long as they followed the rules. No problems. This time we are going to do the same thing but...space is limited. We only have a total of 11 slots available. Last year we accumulated $416 total as a result of the great builds and participation.
For that reason a very specific set of rules have been created for this contest. They are a bit long, but very detailed and important. Please read them thoroughly before deciding to join.
THE RULES:
1. Kits have been selected and will be provided by Beast and IceMan. All participants will get the same model kit. The kit WILL NOT be announced until you guys start receiving the shipment. You are not allowed to use your own kit. One must be shipped to you.
2. This is basically an open build using the kit provided.
3. 1/1/16 through 3/31/16 - 3 full months.
4. You will be responsible for shipping charges to get the brand new kit to your doorstep.
5. You will also be responsible for return shipping when the kit is complete.
6. As soon as you get the kit, begin your progress thread to show that the kit is in your possession (tracking numbers will be provided)
7. Once you have completed the kit, you must ship the built kit to IceMan. All completed builds should be shipped back by 3/31/16 and must provide a tracking number. If you do not provide a tracking number, by that date you will be disqualified and required to pay the $25 fee.
8. Once the kits have been received, all kits would be put up for sale on eBay, starting at the same time and ending in 7-10 days. The build with the highest
selling price would be considered the winner of the eBay Challenge and would be awarded a prize package. All proceeds from the auctions would go into the Jerry's Cherry's Model Club fund. (In case of a tie a 24-hr poll will be set up on the forum to break the tie)
9. You are not allowed to bid on any of these auctions in an attempt to raise the ending price. You will be disqualified immediately if such shenanigans take place.
10. Like all other contests and challenges, progress pics and finished pics are required in their respective threads. Member voting for People's Choice will also take place here on the forum for a single kit prize.
Some things to keep in mind:
- Build this kit as detailed or as simple as you'd like
- Members are not deciding the main winner of the contest so build something a collector would want to purchase.
- HAVE FUN!!
The not so fine print
Due to the cost of the kits, there are some consequences for not abiding by the rules and/or not meeting deadlines. If the kit is not completed or shipped back on time by 3/31/16 you will have to pay $25 by that day. In order to participate in the Member Choice category, you will have to have shipped the kit back as well. YOU DO NOT GET TO KEEP THE COMPLETED BUILD! No member will be reimbursed for shipping, glue, paint, or any other supplies used to build and ship the model. All proceeds from the auction will be used for future prizes solely for members of this forum.
Beast and IceMan, reserve the right to decline any member's participation before it begins. Will be decided on a case by case basis.

Shipping of kits will begin 12/14/15
Once the kit is shipped to you, you are responsible for following all rules listed here.
