Thanks to 60sera and the Oldsmobile question in the Trivia post, I have been doing research and came across this article. www.streetlegaltv.com/news/the-w43-oldsmobiles-dohc-455-v8-that-never-was/I hear stories of guys who used to work in auto manufacturing and in R+D and built some amazing engines that were then scrapped for crazy reasons. I have heard stories of a guy who used to build engines for GM and one time they came up with a 6 cylinder engine that was making so much power the Corvette at the time look weak. Then the "Powers that Be" ordered the engine destroyed and never to be discussed again. There are stories like these all over the internet and I for one love reading about them.

As wisdom got the Model right , but -- the years in production are still open.

Just got back from a road trip to Indy. The fiance wanted to drive her car so I rode shotgun and got some reading time in. The new Hot Rod mag has a great article about the first 427 big blocks.
