Anybody ever heard of this? The guy said soak the kit in distilled water to make the older plastics firmer to renew them?

Is that sticker on the outside of the cellophane? I remember selling this one a couple of times in my eBay store and never had those labels. Heck , I've never seen this type of advice before.

Yeah it appears homemade as far as that goes. I know washing the parts but never heard this before
