That is something we thought about but then the voting would be pretty lopsided with such different builds. Comparing apples to oranges doesn't always yield the best results. However we did allow members to vote for their favorite categories not too long ago. That's how we end up deciding what themes to use. We can only encourage so much. There are great builders here that feel too pressured and some, a while back, just didn't like to lose. We still haven't found the key to getting more people to join. However, we do have some that are pretty consistent and that's pretty great all in itself.
Plus sometimes life gets in the way and it's understandable. I'm just glad some of you guys stick around and come here often.

Correct, this year has been a down year for me just too many distractions. Iceman is right , the members voted on the themes and we have said before build them when ever you want just don't post pics till they are due As for the voting , I look ever day at who or how many members and guest we hav in a 24 hour period . We consistently have high numbers of both, yet low numbers of voters. We have asked for suggestions , we send out emails and iceman has made links on a polling thread to make it even easier . With the score sheet it should take some of the drama out of it and I would hope that everyone votes as judges and not friends or fans . With the score sheet it should be impossible for a car to win that didn't post the recommended pics but yet it still happens . I for one look at ever bracket car I score them each once and then no matter who is racing who that is the score they get. Same score every round . And honestly I never have my own car winning. I just know all the things I'm not happy with on my builds and that influences my score. Me and iceman can only do so much it's really up to you guys. We are always thank Fil for donations but we started out give our own kits away ( I still do ) and paying shipping in the hopes that more people would join in . You tell me any other site that gives away as much as Jerry's Cherrys and I will join it. With the cost of kits these days I would compete just in the hopes I won a free kit. After all I am going to keep building cars any way might as well have fun

I for one would welcome comments about my builds , good and bad . I would really like to know my mistakes or were I could have done better. That , I feel , is how you become a better builder.

I love the themed MOTM idea, it helps set a plan for the year, it saves a lot of sitting around wondering what to build next..
There might be the odd one didn't suit me , but most of them do.
Keep up the GREAT WORK guys...

I agree with Iceman, GB and DeeCee here
I am here A LOT, and I think this site is the best.
This club has helped to spark in myself to build, build more and strive to build better, and it has helped me tremendously. I have an extremely fast paced and hectic work life. I have worked 50 to 70 hours a week for nearly 15 years now, consistent. And this hobby we all enjoy has really helped me to settle my frustrations.
The contests are just that, contests. They are simply for fun, I mean, come on, lets get serious here, or should I say, lets NOT get to serious. This is a hobby, and I for one appreciate the opportunity to showoff, if you will, the builds I have created. We have the rules, so lets all follow them. It will only help each of ourselves, in our own ways, to become better builders and obtain more satisfaction than ever before with our own creations.
I have always appreciated, and realized the expense of hosting, running, time involved, dedication, etc it takes to host a site such as this, and that is why I donate regularly, as many others here do as well. This is also a way for me to feel I am giving back, in some small way, to a club that has given to me so much, and one that I feel has so much going for it. Ice and GB have started something special here, you guys are responsible for joining others, across this globe, in an online friendship that has the potential to last a lifetime.
I for one thank you both, and stand behind your decisions for the club.
ROCK ON - PEACE OUT - YABA, DABA, DOOO!!

I have been involved in Cars since the 60s..Have Produced Car show's (1:1) Competed in them and have been Pres / vice pres , in a couple Club's.Getting people to vote in one of these contest's ,is the same as getting participation from Club Members at car show's.. ALL of the members never show up , no matter how hard one try's. At one time , out of forty member's / the most we ever had show up for a show was less than 20. It runs the same with Model's , only a few really participate in voting.. How does one get more Voter Participation ?? That my friend's , is the 64000 dollar question..The judging sheets at the front of the Voter Heading is a Great idea. Using it is another Great Idea , as I have Composed and used many over time and they do work..And at times can finalize a really tough call between two builds. No matter how nice your Build is , you can't always win. But seeing people vote for ones Build is very satisfying, even more so if you turn out to be the winner. The more votes the better.. I always vote if I'm in the Contest or not, and look forward to seeing the Voting process.. I am in favor of NOT hiding vote tally's. I can only HOPE more of you will vote in any and all upcoming Contest's.. Tom / 60s era smiley-greet016

I try to vote by the sheet on motm and brackets. I find with the bracket it's easier to score each bracket seperate. I give 2 to first and 1 to second. I do this with each category in the bracket(unless one is mine in which case it's the other guy) but with the motm I score 1 to 10. That has worked well until this month when both got the same so, and I'm sorry to admit it but I flipped a coin

great comments guys. nice to see a civil discussion on something. tired of people flying off the handle at the littlest thing. so back to the topic at hand. I try and vote as much as I can. forget some of the time. why I don't, or haven't participated in a lot of these things... 3 reasons...
1 - build too slow 2 - build WAY too slow 3 - computer illiterate + too lazy to take pictures of my stuff and get it to the computer.
there will be cake and ice cream if I ever participate in one. this site is a great site. better than my mopar site as far as participation goes, contests, prizes, bracket racing, cruising on the weekends, more than I have ever seen on any site. this site has got me building more than any other site. I am happy to contribute, I am here almost every day, just don't post the pictures like all of you. I can say I will change, we will have to see.
my apologies to everyone. I guess I am one of the guys that this discussion is all about. I do have planned builds for the 2016 season (Feb, March, April, Oct, Nov and Dec + the anniversary build for the wagon). missed most of the builds for this year. we can only hope for a better year upcoming.
keep up the good work everyone.
