Sounds like a good idea mate, I may just work up something like that. NASCAR crews have, what they call, 200 mph tape, and they use it all over the place, in big sheets too.

Must be left overs from british leyland in the 70's. They had it in the tool kits for some minis and it was checked so you knew it was from bl. I think they used it for everything though, those cars fell apart so fast paint was a waste. lol

99% of decals on, got a couple coats of clear on to set these. Now i can attempt to work that front fender - still on the mission to save... Getting prepared to install the dash, and remaining front end body / engine parts...

Dash in, Radiator is in, upper and lower hoses on, front wheels drying Reinstalled the front nose guard, it broke off when the hood cracked. Also, had to re-apply many decals, but all is touched up On to painting the windows - going to use some decals for the first time from the "extras" goodies sheet In an effort to speed things up, I decaled some, and opted to free hand, with sharpies the windows Windows in and car is done. Will do some final touch ups, then will make a finished thread. But this one is pretty much OFF the desk!! Whew!!

Great work so far. Just remember...you're twice as smart as those decals.
