I haven't posted any of my last couple weeks building due to being at my own house while granny is in hospital, so here's the vw I'm working on just now. It's a revell.de version of the mk2 golf gti. The engine was very plain and didn't have much detail to it and most of the inner front wings were moulded in already, so I cut the entire inner wing area off and have started cutting new inner wings a ferrari kit. I have also scrapped the front suspension and used some from a tamiya volvo kit with a lot of cutting up to get them to fit. If I remember correctly the struts have been shortened 5mm, narrowed 5mm and I have added camber to them. I'm using the kit rear axle again cut up and madified to fit, including narrowed and notched rear beam and I think it was volvo struts/springs. The engine has been wired but again I junked the kit induction for a pair of webbers from the porsche speedster kit (again shortened to fit) but still in paint so not shown yet. The rear wheel tubs have been cut about to get the wheels where I want them with the lows. I have also narrowed the fuel tank to allow for the lowering as it was right in the way. Planning to do the body fairly stock and might add some different door handles from the new beetle kit to go with the new beetle seats I have fitted.
