ok, missed the MOTH, but I am still going on this one. changed the title to a more fitting one.
took 2 steps forward and a few steps back last night. gathered up some chassis components, got them all painted. chassis base, interior is painted. have to get to the parts department and get a tac, oil pressure and water temp gauges. ripped open a F/C I had planned on selling for the rims. got lots of parts sanded, painted and/or primed. well, that's moving forward....
now lets go a few steps backwards...
my rat roaster intake that I spent a few nights on is gone!! yep, it grew legs and walked off cause I KNOW I DIDN"T LOSE IT!! open-mouth-smiley-emoticon lost some rear end parts also, hence, did a "clean-up" of the bench.
then. painted up the engine. steel for the 4-speed, red bell housing, darker steel for the inspection plate, hemi orange for the block, aluminum for the heads.... wait... are we painting a clown car??? this thing looks silly. so tonight I will reprime the block and not use so many colors. I really thought it would look good....
so, good and bad night, Indians won! I will get pictures up soon.

thanks Chas, I have a long way to go. Saturday nite in the model shop was OK. the one thing was nothing dries in my basement. went to start putting the rear end together, the darn thing felt dry but as soon as I put any pressure on it.. BAM... big ol fingerprint. so it was back to the parts department, get another rear end and shoot it. reshot the block. did the final check and test fit on the chassis to the resin body. shot everything and took it upstairs to dry in the sun. still haven't found the rat roaster intake. started making an aftermarket cross ram for it.
so, all in all, I am making progress. more progress than I have in years on any of my builds. I will have to remember to take pictures. I know nothing happens unless there are pictures.

ok, more progress, after priming the resin body. did more sanding and filing. not the best body, anyways, more primer and took it upstairs to dry. got a hood, cut the hole in it and thought I had a extra scoop, but it's from the GTX kit and its different than the 64 scoop. primed the hood. did some more filing on the chassis to fit up in the body better.
hope to have it on all 4 tires this weekend. was looking at the rear end last night, after I finally got a good coat of paint on it, I want to lower it.... started to make a new cross ram for it, motor is painted, need to flock the interior and maybe get paint on it this week.
....and thanks for following along, comments welcome.

thought I would throw a little mockup together. would love to have is sit like this. but the suspension will make the ride height a little taller.

here is the beginning of a new modern cross ram. smoothed out the top and started tacking the plastic to it.

another "don't have to but I am" part is the oil pan. going to deep sump this guy. everyone leave their mark on a build, at least I think so. well, my trademark are deep sump pans and the oil pan is ALWAYS painted gold. so it's find a pan.... go to the scrap heap and find some material to increase the depth. here is the deepened pan. after I took this, I primed it again and will throw some more gold paint in it. then bolt to the block.

I do have paint on the hood and scoop and a final (I hope) on the body. we will let it gas and get a clear coat on it. still working on the suspension. really want to get it lower than where it is going to sit.
thanks for looking, comments welcome.

A quick touch up will be an easy fix mate, I doubt there is a build in my cabinet where I have NOT rubbed through somewhere. But it's usually an easy fix I find. Go for it, you will be satisfied when it's done mate.
