I am painting a 69 Charger Competition Orange, and so far it looks nice except for the driver's side. There is small pitting by the rear driver's side door, and two chips near the lower half of the same side.
How do I fix this? Do I sand it down? Do I use putty?
Any suggestions would help...

I usually spray a layer of primer over the car again and sand it all down with 1000 grit wet sand paper.

I agree with paperback. Did you airbrush or spray paint it? Competition orange is usually pretty consistent in shade. If you can manage to tape up the rest of the car I would paint that entire side again so it all blends in. If you airbrushed, it might be easier to paint just that little part. But if it has a dent, I would say sand it down. Use filler then sand again. Once it's level do the painting.
Chipped off sounds to me like no primer was used.
Hope this all helps a bit. I'm sure more folks will chime in with other suggestions.

Thanks guys, it was rattle canned and primer was used, but I think a poor primer job may be the culprit. I will try to post a picture soon.

Yeah pics should help. Don't forget to introduce your self in the tell us about yourself section! Want to know a little more about who were helping out.
