I'm starting a Stupid Question of the Month contest, and this is my first entry. I have a couple of kits that came with decals. Each has a sheet with the printed decals, plus a second sheet that is blank but looks like decal material. What the heck is the second sheet for?

Agreed!
And yes, that little shiny sheet is supposed to prevent the decals from sticking to parts, plastic bags and/or wrinkling up with time. The newer ones even put a little piece of tape on one side so it doesn't slip around. I've even seen them in their own plastic bag as well on the repops.

Ah, thanks. The protector sheets were not attached to the decal sheets, otherwise I probably would have figured it out. thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

As far as stupid, I once got out of the shower in a hurry and picked up a tin of spray paint instead of deodrant, then a month later did the same again

I wish I had been a bug on the wall watching that. I'll bet you were hopping mad at yourself. I'm not going to tell the stupid things I have done I would get kicked out of the forum for being too dingy to be in here.

I learnt the second time and buy bigger tins now, hasn't happened since That's the key to it all. Learn from your mistakes and don't do the same stupid mistake again. I have made a lot of mistakes in my life some pretty big ones but I haven't made the same one twice. I'm always amazed at the people I see, especially my age, that do the same dumb thing over and over and have to pay the consequences of their actions and don't seem to learn a thing.

Not to mention hilarious. I had to think of a whole new rating for this one, and you're the first one to receive it. Congrats!

When my eyesight got too bad to really be working on 1:1 cars anymore, ... it didn't stop me. In the process of topping off the fluids I mistakenly added power steering fluid to the brake reservoir. (in the US, popular brands of brake fluid / power steering fluid come in identical style plastic bottles. And mine had the labels worn half off) Fast forward, the wife come home, pulls into the drive with all four brake rotors SMOKING ! (locked em up) Had to replace the entire brake lines, master cylinder, and caliper assembly's. I WIN !!!!!

Sorry for the rant Not even close to a rant. Much too polite. Unlike The Donald. Good work, Duster, I think that puts you in the lead. I can only imagine what your repair bill looked like.
