After two sets of decals from this kit , one set of decals from a different version of this kit (the 3 pace car set) and a set of Fred Cady decals... the last two of which do NOT include the required seat pattern decals.... smiley-confused005 this is as done as it's going to get.
The body had no sink marks to fill and only a few mold lines that need to be addressed, so I painted it in white primer then used Testors Gloss Cote on it once the decals were applied. As mentioned above, the decals were a nightmare! The kit's decals were unusable so I finally just ordered a set of Fred Cady decals for it, but they didn't come with seat upholstery so I just left the seats orange and let it be. The fit of the parts was pretty good but the rear axle was positioned too far up into the rear wheel wells making the stance look like there was too much weigh in the trunk. If I had more time I could have removed the rear axle and springs and filed some material off the axles supports, but that would have delayed me another several hours and I really needed to get this model finished as the dead line is tonight!. So I took a short piece of spruce and cut it to fit between the underside of the truck lid and chassis so it put just enough pressure to correct the ride height of the rear of the car. The rest of the model is built box stock except for the addition of plug wires. I hope everyone enjoys the results!

I really like that color scheme mate, the orange interior really sets it off perfectly, and the decals look great too .

Thanks 60's! it does looks good in the display case...It's just that I've had this kit in my stash so long anticipating this build that Im disappointed in the decals being such crap! The convertible pace car was option number Z11 which included the special color scheme and a set of door decals (delivered in the truck for the dealer to install if the customer wanted them. I also wanted to build a Z10 optioned car, which was a hardtop with the same color scheme except tje Z10 did NOT come with the orange interior, nor any pace car door decals. Tjis one gave me so much greif, I dought I'll ever build the Z10.

Beautiful, there is a 1:1 69 Pace car about 3 miles from me. I just about have to swim out of my car after seeing it when I go by the house.
