When I started back modeling my mentor was an old master modeler who had been building for 50 years and helped me a lot until he died. He told me to build some Level 3 Nascar kits to learn from and they would help me to go to a higher level. He was right and I still think building a level 3 Nascar kit, even box stock, and try to build it right and make it look good is a good experience for anyone and a great learning experience. Especially if you want to grow in the hobby.
This is the first Nascar kit I built. I just found it in a cabinet where I had put it and forgotten it so I thought I would post it. I didn't know much, I didn't do well on the decals and covered part of the Four in 43 so it shows 'ourty 3. The other side is any number you want. I didn't know the clear fuel hoses in the trunk were supposed to be painted so they are still clear. At least you can see if the pump is working that way. I was surprised to see a braided water line and engine wiring. I guess I was trying something even back then.
