They are really awesome for sure! I need a new printer soon, always replace it just about yearly as a rule, I may have to look for one of these printers! Making decals is a trick, but once you get it down for your printer, they are pretty easy. I wish I could go all out and buy one of those ALPS printers, but just cannot see to spend 2 to 5 grand for a printer, if I am gonna spend that much on a printer, it better come with a tax-free income!!! LOL
Thanks for the tip - and great investment, gauges look wicked cool!!!

Thanks, Crunchy. I downloaded pics of gauges from the web and printed them on my new Canon Pixma MG6620, highest resolution on glossy photo paper. Punched the printed gauges out of the paper with a leather hole punch. The results are just killer. The printer cost me all of $60 from Amazon. Can't beat it with a stick, my friend. road-rage-smiley-emoticon I plan on buying some decal printer sheets so I can also print my own decals. Holy crap, I just bought the same printer ! And you can do THIS with it , SWEET !!! Mine came with a trial pack of photo paper, is that what you used ?? Awesome build by the way, very nicely detailed. My old neighbor years ago had a Stude Golden Hawk. Said he was going to fix it up, but it just sat under a tarp,.... mocking me. He wouldn't sell.

Thanks, Sharp. Duster, I was pleasantly surprised too. I'm using Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, but I'm sure it doesn't matter if it's Canon brand or not...that's just what they happened to have at the store. Any glossy photo paper will probably do just as well. I print on regular paper until I get the size of the gauges right, then print on photo paper. The leather punch I'm using is one of these.... It's a handy gadget to have around. I also used it to punch holes in masking tape that I then used to mask off the round parts of the door handles and window cranks in the tub. thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Thanks, all. Only bits left to attach are the outside mirror and the radiator hose. The hose that came with the kit didn't seem to fit no matter which way I tried it, so I made my own using wire.
