All Plastic 1971 Dodge Demon.

  Today we bow in sorrow! A 1970 Dodge Dart came to a horrible end. Lost its entire front end. A 1971 Plymouth Duster loses its front sheetmetal and gets a nose job. And what we have is the makings of a 1971 Dodge Demon. I had one of the bodies for the Wheel Standing Dart and an extra Duster body and got to looking at them kind of the way Chrysler did back in the day when Ralph Nader layed the heavy on them regulating the Dart to no bigger than a 318 in 71. Creating the Demon for 71 gave them a place to stuff a 340 and be competitive with Plymouths Duster. I cobbled this together and everfything fits pretty well for a 3 hour job. I had to add a small strip of plastic sheet on the side firewalls and under the fronts of the fenders for alignment. At the moment these fenders are just tacked on and there are small tabs glued under the fronts of the doors and the rears of the fenders to hold them in place. one place that came up short was the hood. When I split the fenders from the hood on the Dart sheetmetal the body was more narrow than the Duster so there is about a 16th of an inch on each side in the form of a gap. This will be fixed with some plastic strips glued and sanded down on the edges of the hood or perhaps a resin hood may be a bit wider so maybe I will buy one and test it out. Anyways here is my creation in its early stages. Tell me what you think!! 

By the way, I know there is a resin Demon body out there. Take a good look at one of them. They cobbled a Dart nose onto Duster front fenders. Looks okay but the front wheel wells are all wrong. They have a Duster raduis with a fender lip on top well and Demons use Dart fenders with the Dart radius. Round 2 was getting a Demon ready but that kind of went away. I saw the preliminary body and it had the same front end as the resin body does. Thats why I am creating this one.
