This is going to be a list of contests, challenges, and forum builds that we come up with. Some of these might be month challenges, some longer. No rules or dates are going to be set at this time. Just a list of ideas. Send them to GrandpaBeast or myself so we can talk it through and add them if they fit for the forum.
They are in no particular order.
1. The life of a classic car - All participants purchase the same kit. 1 would be show room new, 2 would be daily driver , 3 would be 16 yr old's first car, 4 might be hot rod , jacked up with wide tires, 5 would be wrecked, 6 would be wip/repaired, 7 would be drag car, 8 would be retired drag car, 9 would be WIP restore and 10 would be full restored, 11 abandoned and forgotten junk car. Then when all are completed it would represent a time line of life for that car.
2. eBay Challenge Same model, different car designer - Every participant gets the same kit; build it your way! - 1/1/14 - 3/31/14
3. Commercial vehicle, utility vehicle, and authority vehicle - your choice
4. Apocalyptic vehicle - Something for an apocalyptic world (think Mad Max)
5. Big Scale Contest - 1/12, 1/16, or 1/18 open build
6. Open build - Pink slips - losers send the built kit to winner.
7. Community face off - teams of 2-3 build kits together as teams. Kits are then sold on eBay to get $ for future prizes.
8. Resin Mayhem - Using a resin body, create your masterpiece - 11/1/13 - 1/31/14
9. Back to Basics - Completely box stock. No swaps no custom work. All stock.

Any feedback or suggestions?
Thanks

That works. And we haven't announced anything yet. Some of these will most likely be 2-3 month contests to help make cost a bit more efficient. These are all just ideas. Some we will be contributing kits for at a discounted price and some not. More details as we start getting closer to some of these. As a matter of fact, I think I'll set up a poll later this week to see which one we should do next.

Wheels contest dead line I believe is Sept 30. I like all of these ideas .#1 Is really cool I have seen this done before , they even did it in scale auto once. It would be less of a contest and more of a group/club activity. #2 sounds like fun, and since I live so close to the Ertl factory I could go there and get a case of the same models. Entry fee would be shipping plus the cost of the kit ( guessing 15 to 20 total ) and then send them out all at the same time. #3,4,5 and 8 would make great future contests maybe even two or three month builds.#6 looks like a fun Challenge contest were members challenge other members to an "open" build ( any kit anyway ) the club votes and the winner gets both models, could be fun.Lastly #7 I could see a list of builders randomly set into teams, teams then decide who will do what parts of the build. Then all finished kits are sent to myslf or Iceman and they are all posted on Ebay starting at .99 . The winning build is the one that brings in the most cash. We will ship the models to the winning bidders and the money will be used to buy prize kits for the club. The winning team will receive a kit for each member. Also I have started a how to on building a gasser ( altered wheel base ) I am going to stick with the build till its completed, then I will sell it on ebay for the same purpose of collecting funds for prizes. Please check out the thread, make suggestions and if any one would like to help in its build PM me and we will get it done. Also I encourage others to do the same , share your talents with the rest of us......please !

I think all those ideas sound good. Makes a nice variety of contests and a couple of them help generate some funding for contest prizes. I don't know if I could participate in all of them, but I would do all the ones I can.

So you guys ready for another challenge? Not right now, right now, but maybe in April we can start a new 2-3 month contest/challenge. The eBay one is winding down. Not really sure what you guys would like to do this time around. Take a look at the first post of this thread where we have a list going on. If you guys have any other ideas for us to add, let me know. Then I'll set up a poll later this month to see what Beast and I need to prep for.
Thoughts?

Well I know I'm biased on this one but would like to do a MOTM of a Pro-stock or funny car or professional drag build of some kind....

The themes for this year are set, but when I ask for theme ideas for 2015 remind me and I am sure we can do something. I think Iceman was talking more about special challenges. I just want to remind everyone that we do have the Anniversary Contest coming up and we are hoping for a lot of participation in that. I would like to see maybe a big scale challenge after the Anniversary build , just a thought.

1/12 would definitely count as big scale. I'll add it and maybe we'll get to this contest one of these months.

I am about to start a big 1/12 scale kit - maybe I can get this done in time. It's another one of my "saved" kits I found though. Not sure what I am in for, got it at the flea market - may have to tint the window, lotta glue going on! Also, I would love to get in on the stock builds - strictly follow the instructions, paint scheme, etc!
