Stitch as you know me, I'd LOVE to find Dom's Fathers black '70 Charger R/T..... Then I'd be happy, (NOT sure tho I'd make it like the one in the movie, but it be a damn good thought going across my mind when I was building it!

DON'T waste your money mate, i brought 4 of the AMT F/F chargers a couple of years ago, they were $20 each, most kits were $40 each down this way at the time , but i found that the F/F charger is not even worth the $20. It is a sh't body, very poorly done, the chrome is rubbish, only the engine is any good really, just get a good quality charger and paint it black mate.

DAMN IT. They make a '66, (listed as a '67), a '68, a '69, and a '71 Chargers..... DIFFERENT options such as the '69... R/T, 500, and Daytona..... WTH is with the '70? Its merely the same body with a different grille! (I have a '70 grille that went to I THINK a F&F kit), BUT, it really isn't all that close to the '70 as looked to the real thing.....

If you go to " Jerry's cherry's finished builds, go to page 4 of Muscle cars, and have a look at "more mopars", the red and blue one is the kit, with a lot of work to fix it.

-headed that way! EDIT: Dale went and had a look, I seen that one before, I thought that was a '69........ The '70 Charger has a HUGE front grille in it...... The grille in your red and blue one is split in the middle, the '70 is just a wide open thing..... (difficult to explain) but, is open sort of like a '68...... 1968 Charger R/T -----^ 1969 Charger R/T -----^ 1969 Charger 500 -----^ 1970 Charger R/T -----^ 1971 Charger R/T -----^ BE sure to look at the '69 and '70 grille on BOTH "R/T" options...... The "500"was a whole other beast...... Was created for NASCAR and sold as "Stock" to be used for racing, as per NASCAR rules back then! The '71 was the last body change for the muscle car "Charger"....even tho they made Chargers in the '80's but were nothing like these! My Dad once had a 1976 Chager "SE". I WISHED I had pics of that thing as it looked NOTHING like these either...... Was a real odd ball, and it had a 360 in it! Toldme that engine was more a gas hog then anything he ever had for the amount of power it made. he had a truck with a 360 in it and told me the truck had more nad then the '76 Charger SE would ever think to have and the car was a matching number car too! the truck was matching number as well but was a '79....... (I'm working making a model of the '79 Adventurer he owned) To go along with the '78 Power Wagon I had at about the same time (my first truck or well that truck was my first EVER vehicle! (I was 15 almost 16 then!)

As promised John, here is the kit, and the 2 grill options they have in it, and both are so chunky and ugly. It does not sit well, the wheels are ugly, and the body has more flash than a nudist club outing at a photography class.

DAMNIT! I have that SAME grille, the one on the left. Which it to be the "70" model year grille, as the one on the right is the "69" model year grille (I have to admit tho, the '69 model year grille looks MUCH better then the '70 that they claim is the 1970 grille! WHY oh WHY can't someone (YELLING out to REVELL here) make a NICELY detailed 1970 Dodge Charger R/T NOT based off the Fast n Furious car!? I do however see the issue tho Dale. the true '70 model that you pictured shows the hide-away headlights to be in the 'open" position..... Making that grille look odd! Dale I love the comment on the flash...... I got and have seen the A100 have the same issue on the older one and the newer one is clean! You can make a '66 or '67 from that one single kit, just by adding or removing side, fender turn signals. Then they make a '68 already nicely detailed and we all know there are multiples of the '69, R/T. "500" and the Daytona. Nothing respectable made for a '70. SADLY, and they make a NICE '71...... WTH? EVERYTHING from the start to the finish except a 1970? GRRRRRR

-Forgot to mention, yes the wheels on the left, SUCK! (NO Rallye's to the kit) And the ones on the right are "General Lee" type spokes..... They're "OK" at best for the General Lee, BUT nothing STOCK.......

I have that model too and the grille is CRAP. It does not even come close to a 70 grille. The ribs are totaly wrong, the grille is way too square, and in the end all this model is was one that has been retooled over and over from that hideous 1st gen Dukes of Hazzard Charger 500. Its really a poor piece in the first place. Wish they would have just went ahead and did a total re-do to that 68/70 Charger mold.

Its really a poor piece in the first place. Wish they would have just went ahead and did a total re-do to that 68/70 Charger mold. Chas, I actually have one of the original '69 Charger 500's that was sold as the Warner Bros promotional model kit from 1981, that was made by AMT Ertl! Sadly, its wrong too as the car should have been a R/T (different rear window set up) but, I've been told and have read its a collectable now..... -The actual "General Lee" was a '69 Dodge Charger R/T, MOSTLY, they in the end of the show/series, were using ANYTHING they could get to look and resmemble a '69 Charger....as 247 Charger R/T's were ruined during filming of that show Love the show, HATE the Mopar abuse! -And then there was Daisy.............. (OK I'll stop now LOL) As for the '70 F&F Charger grille yes, I'm not a big fan of it having the lights "opened" it looks almost ridiculous.... BUT it is to "square" I have to agree..... They made one of these MANY years ago, that was a better lookin model of a '70 Charger BUT I'm not sure they're around much anymore and if so, I bet they go for a shiny penny, and a lot of them! If you scroll up, look at the one I have an arrow pointing to as a '70.............. that grille says it all! I also have to agree, they ought to retool on todays models with a bit more in-depth detail as Revell has stepped up to the plate with..... _I can remember back in the 1990's and even a bit earlier in my life, that Revell was a "OK" model, BUT the details weren't quite right..... Monogram comes to mind here..... For instance, the '71 Hemi Cuda.... The exhaust manifolds were NOTHING like that seen on a stock 426 Hemi in '71 or ANY year of that engine! These are the things they need to improve on.... Such as any of the newer releases of the 426 Hemi in 1/25th scale, they really stepped up to the plate with a mean ball bat, as that newer engine is a home run for us detail oriented guys! Thats just me tho.......

The Dukes destroyed many a Charger on that series. Very few were R/T cars though and there was an equal amount of 68, 69, and 70 cars. There was a bunch of Coronets used too with crude roof extensions added to resemble a Charger roof. At first they tried to stay true to the 69 Charger but after awhile they slipped up or got lazy and if you watch enough episodes you will see 68 side marker and tail lights, no marker lights, and some 70 marker lights, (oh yeah. the 69s were just reflectors). 68 and 69 grilles are the same. Mopar created the divider to put on the 69 grilles, then they just drop the divider in 70 only to bring it back in 71. They were goofy!!

I bought one of the fast and furious Chargers back when they were on the shelf. I was glad to see they FINALLY fixed the rear tunneled glass, but was VERY disappointed in the crappy 70 grille and the 69 interior! I used the kit to build another General Lee model...I plan to build a Fast and Furious Charger, but I will use one of the new General Lee kits (they also have the correct rear glass) and an original issue 70 Charger interior with a resin 70 Charger grille from the Modelhaus. I still have some of the Daisy Wheels left over from Two Lane Black top Chevy I built.
