Thats AWESOME! The decals will look GREAT, and to note (what looks to be anyway) a Dodge pick up bed!? I love the way this is all turning out! The cab roof however... the owner/driver is gonna be a mess if that sunny Ice Cream day turns to rain!

Those decals look great, Alan. They are going to slide right off the paper with a little dip in warm water. Just cut as close as possible to the letters and use setting solution is you have it. I use the Micro Sol set. If this is your first time using his decals, practice with the Firebird logo at the bottom of the sheet so you can get a feel for them. But they are great, man. Can't wait to see them go on. What color will it all be? Pink? Pistachio green? Push Pop Orange?
Mmmmmmmmmmm...push pop. Can remember the last time I had one of those. big-drooling-smiley-emoticon

Thanks guys! John, yes if it rains ice cream man gets wet! and it is a dodge bed. While the kit bed is accurate, I didn't like the way it looked with the huge wheel wells. Thanks Joel, I'm glad I have extra decals "just in case"! The truck will be white. My wife wants me to paint the fenders pink, but since I don't have any on hand they will probably be white also... That's funny Frank! I keep humming that song everytime I start working o0n it! Maybe I should have called it David Lee Roth ice Cream!

Yea, If you ever look at the rear fender openings on these old trucks you'll notice that they appear way oversized. I don't know why they were made this way, but they were. I didn't like the looks of it so I swapped out the bed. My original thought was that the ice box on the rear wasn't just slid into the exiting bed, but replaced the bed.

I think the fenders on these old trucks were made that size so they could be rated higher for load, and it was cheaper to use the same throughout the range rather than have multiple size parts

You have to keep in mind they used 16 inch wheels on the half tons clear up through 66. Alan, this is a great looking little ice cream truck! You do some dang fine work bud!

It's different this side of the pond, I just assumed it was the same in the US. My bad

Okay, This one is done... The tooling for this kit is VERY old! Most of the parts do not fit very well, and to add more confusion, some of the part locations on the instruction sheet are wrong! (such as the front leaf springs) Anyway, it's done and I'm moving on to my 2nd anniversary Hot rod/ rat rod build. Please see the final pictures in the finished section!
