Well I've just watched my first episode of Chrome Underground. What an awful show it is. I don't think it could be any more scripted if they tried. It was like a rambo film

There was a hot rod with ardun heads but the rest was them getting ripped off for 30g's and accidentally finding someone to help(while having a film crew with them) It really made chips laugh in overhaulin look real. What shows are worth looking for? While I find overhaulin very repetitive I do enjoy it and bitchin rides has some really cool cars. I've looked for car crazy online but its USA only and leno's garage is on youtube so easy to find. Is top gear US still being made? I enjoyed it even with it just being a remake of the UK one, but I watch for the cars, the flying caddilac was one of the best things I've seen on telly but I need more car shows or I'll be stuck watching trashy talent shows and reality tv which will rot my already rotten mind, lol

I found chrome underground to be a load of BS too mate, as for their body guard, it is a wonder they have not been shot by him. Car crazy has some nice rides in it, but 25 mins of a 30 min show is that Maquire clown smiling at the camera. Street outlaws is great if you like insanely fast street cars. Gas monkey do some cool stuff but that Richard is the biggest waste of space on this earth I think. There are some others on pay tv here in Aus, but I am at work, so cant look them up for you.

DeeCee you should be working then, lol. I like top gear austrailia, have at least 5 series downloaded, I'm not sure if top gear us has been cancelled as tanner faust was in sundays uk one and still descrabed as a current top gear presenter. We get street outlaws on telly here but I tend more towards the custom stuff, even street customs is enjoyable for me(dont tell anyone but I thought pimp my ride was good fun). Gas monkey I get on telly too but Being we dont get that many car shows over here I dont wait for it on telly so the mpa probably hate me. I've seen a few episodes of a show called carfix recently which looked good but it seems to be a filler show, but what I've seen was goos. I enjoyed monster garage when they had the real customisers on Barris,Starbird etc, but its gone now. There was a jesse james maybe series that was much better in the second series I really enjoyed(if it wasn't for the pro team leader that seemed to be an arsehole bully). Any good austrailian shows to look for?

There isn't much made in Aus that is worth watchinng really, that's why i have pay TV, for all the motorsport and car shows. Kindig Customs is turning out some pretty damn awesome custom cars, he would be on par with Foose with some of the stuff he is building.

I have to agree, Gas (ASS) Monkey Garage (Fast & Loud) is OK, but Richard, OMG don't get me started! Then ya got Richards Duck Dynasty side-kick there......... so important, I can't even remember his name! running-around-smiley-emoticon Counting Cars is another good one that I know of. The "Count" is a funny bastard!!!! Sadly those are thee only 2 I've seen and then its been a couple years as I live under a rock and have not come out of my cave since I was able to get around from my surgery so, theres no TV at my home since I was able to go and do other things I much more enjoy, plus my whole family agreed, TV sucks anymore anyway...... I once in awhile watch those shows on Netflix, or Youtube.....

I don't have "pay TV" so am spared the low budget, poorly paced, and contrived conflict all reality shows thrive on. Occasionally, when house-sitting for neighbors I'll tune in to see if things have improved. Nope, how to have faith in people when so much bad entertainment makes big profits?

Yeah, Counting cars, i agree with John, is one of those great ones too. He does some beautiful work. Dale, The last time I actually watched TV, it was a night I was layin in the rocking chair after my surgery, and flippin through the channels and caught Fast & Loud and watched a little of it before I went flippin again, and found Counting Cars, but the time as I was watching Fast & Loud, Richard was taking a Chevy gasser, and went and had it paint green and had 2 POUNDS of metal flake put into the paint. can you imagine? 2 POUNDS of metal flake? I MEAN HOLY GOOD GAWD man, that must have felt like 36 grit sand paper when you layed yer hand on that car, and then the guy that was to buy it, didn't and it ticked Richard right off, and he took it to some "auction", to see if he could make back at least what he had in it, and took a SERIOUS loss as $60 grand! Or so he said! I think he said, he paid $3,200 for it.............. and had it in the shop for a WEEK, and took a loss at selling it for 4 thousand OVER what he wanted the bidding to begin at? -I can't for the life of me remember what engine it had in it, OR if it even run.....I actually think Richard and his Duck Dynasty friend there pushed by hand onto the "Auction block"...... THEN he finds a '73 Challenger, was B5 blue, interior was crap, but the body was solid and it had a 360 in it for power. It ran but sounded like crap, said paid $5,500 for it, and sold it for $7,500, with no more work then a new battery, and all around brakes.....REALLY? THEN in the end of the show sat and complained he lost out on all the cars he SOLD that week..........Was thee last time I watched Fast & Loud......AKA Ass Monkey Garage......Counting Cars, WHOLE different story! The Count actually makes some real sense and does GREAT work custom or not.....

-Yep Denny, I do not believe Street Outlaws will be going much further...... One of those things like it was for me in the 80's its JUST music, you don't go and do what it says in it.....same for TV.....ITS only for ENTERTAINMENT, NOT to go out and do what they're showing..... Morons, to go and do it outside of the "set".....

Usually he just gets told off, but this time he is meant to have raised his fist at a producer. I think he makes the show too, the banter between them all is part of the draw, sort of like being in the pub with friends feel to it

Not even familiar with the show so.... sorry guys You might find some on youtube, If there's challenge episodes they tend to be most fun. You would probably enjoy them. Making a van into a hovercraft, pickup into a sea going boat, and other silliness. It's best watched as not serious cos some people get they're panties in a bunch over it (mostly greenpeace etc)

I have seen every episode of this show so far, and neither of them actually have anything to do with the show, and being in California?? the show is based in Oklahoma, they might have been on a challenge night, but i think the Media is just linking it to the show for the usual beat up for ratings. Who knows? Will have to wait and see what happens on future episodes i guess.

If a person has never seen "Top Gear," a few early ones could be fun. It grew more ridiculous with time and just seems so unchanging. I've seen maybe 5 in all the years. Jeremy's strong opinions were important to the show but like "bad boy" wrestlers, his style wears thin over time. What we in the U.S. don't realize is the gap between upper and lower classes that lives in Britain. Maybe that's part of the appeal of the show. I think some old eps. of "Gear" are on Y.T., or they were yrs ago.

It's not so much a gap between classes here in the UK, not really a subject I should get into on here. Being quite interested in politics I would probably use some language that isn't appropriate

Big D, my wife and I actually know a lot of the guys on Street Outlaws. My wife is the city's waste water inspector, and one of the klans on the Oklahoma side of Street outlaws has a sewage cleaning business, replacing traps, etc. She was inspecting this being done at a LOCAL Taco Bell, and they were the contractors to show up. Since then, we have got to meet them a few other times, nice bunch of guys. This LA bunch were always trouble, and now, they use the abandoned airports around the outskirts of OKC ALOT OF TIMES for the shows. It's funny really, the guys do NOT normally curse like the show portrays, they are actually told to curse more so they can "bleep" more. But I can tell ya, the cars ARE for real. LOUD AND LUDRICROUSLY FAST!!

That is so cool Tom. I have known people who were on various TV shows and they told me a lot of what goes on in the guise of "Reality" is scripted. I knew a contestant on the big reality series on the islands and she was booted off the show because she wouldn't follow the script. Nothing "Real" about it. I'm glad to hear the cars are real. Looks to me like they put a lot of time and money in those cars.

They sure do. We are hoping this year they are not filming and can make our annual car show that my wife and Sgt Starcher have been putting together. This will be our 4th year, last year we had nearly 200 entrants, with over 300 cars/trucks/bikes, etc. Just cant get the city to let us have a burn out competition, but we do get some cool rods!

WOW Tom, that would be so cool to know these guys, and actually see their monsters in the flesh. I love this show. Another great car show is Kindig Customs, very talented builder and customizer, and also "strip and Rip" is back, they build some of the most awesome rat rod customs ever seen i think, google it or also look for "welderup", which is what their business is called. His own chopped rat rod has a 1000hp cummins diesel in it, and eats Lamborghinis for breakfast.
