Lets try this again. I had to park that bloody Revell 57' kit for awhile, so now I'll give an easier, old fart friendly, AMT kit a try. Not as much detail as the Revell kit, but at least it came w/ a decent engine. Now if I can just lay down some paint .......

Color !!! I finally laid down some paint that didn't suck ! Kind of a tangerine, but it's really just Auto Air yellow pearl mixed w/ a tad bit of Auto Air metallic red. No clear yet, I've got a few boogers to deal with. But it's gonna pop when cleared.

That is a sweet color mate, and the engine looks pretty tough too.

Thanks, if it were 1:1 though, speed bumps would be an issue ! It might have 3-4" scale inches of clearance at best. I think the head lights got a weee bluer than they shoyld have been, but they still look kinda cool.

Very cool color and that engine, THAT ENGINE! I think that looks awesome! Did you get that out of another kit? If so, which one?

I just bought a AMT 57 Chevy kit there was only one way to build it which is stock. But I plan on putting another engine from a kit in. I am wondering why they put decals in for the rear side coves.

Yeah, that always got me too. Somehow it must have been cheaper to include decals instead of retooling and adding the detail. The 57' Chevy kit is a very popular kit, and might be one of AMT's oldest toolings, and very well could have had the detail once and it just wore out.
