Here is my latest project its a 1958 London taxi. I have started by getting the big wheels in had to do a bit of cutting for the rears, fronts are ok. Problem i have found with this revell kit is there is not a lot of parts, so i think there is some kitbashing required. I have not got a colour in mind yet, start with the London Taxi colour of black and add some other colour to it,see where it go's. Here are a couple of pictures of the wheels fitted. Any comments or idea's welcome Islandrods

Wild, like something from wheels day! Looking forward to seeing more of this. I was thinking to get the london bus kit at some point, and do the smoke city wheelers double chopped bus from the late 80's'early 90's

A friend on mine has had a '58 for about six years. We can't decide what to do with it, so we take it to shine and shows several times a year and let people take pixs of them sitting in it.

Nice wheels. If they are after market what are they? I would put a sleeper engine under the bonnet like a ram fuel injection or something like that. Looks good.

I think it is cool, a bit lower in the rear would look better though, depending how much work is involved. How about like a Yellow cab, with the checkers up the side?

Hi Deecee I was looking at the picture and came up with the same as you the rear needs to be a bit lower , which I have done ,need to take another picture, It does look better. Hemi and Deecee I like the idea of yellow, I was thimking about black with Union Jack motif down the side, maybe in the style of the word Taxi,. Islandrods

Looking at it again, it has some nice cut lines for a 2 tone paint job. Maybe a black lower half with yellow top could work, or even a tin woody style could look good.

Hi Stitchdup I just Googled the tin woody style you mentioned I like the look of that style, I can see that in a nice pearl yellow and pearl black with a light wood centre. That's what I like about this site, other people can see things that others can't. Cheers mate Islandrods Graham

There is some areas to clean up on the paintwork as well, the chassis painting is started, first coat of black is on need to mask up for the transmisson parts as they are moulded in. Here are the pictures: Thanks for looking Islandrods

It's looking good IR, would be kinda cool to see ones like this on the streets of london, and that rear end suits it to a tee
