Well, we all know the ol' assembly line has it's lefts and rights, well this one went DOWN!! and coped a dose of EVIL!! Evil_Laugh_emoticon 58 Plymouth, shaved of all side moldings and handles, and dipped in BLACK!! Although , that red keeps coming back through.
We now have a pro-charged 426 Hemi, on NOS, which is easily good for 1200-1500 HP, which will get this baby moving.! Wheels are Aoshima Kranze, which have been narrowed at the front and the dish widened on the rear. Tail shaft is real metal tube, and i found some chrome trim to top the rear fenders, and some chrome door handles from the spares box. My 5 PICS. And some more.

Not to take Dales 15 seconds of fame, but Mike, you CAN!!!!!! You just need to step sand/polish, with really fine grit sand paper 1,000 grit and up paint, wet sand 1,000 grit, over coat with another color of that used, wet sand again 1,200 grit, one last good wet coat of paint/color, wet sand again 1,400 grit. CLEAR coat the whole works wet sand with 1,400 grit again on the clear coat, and then got 100 grits more BETWEEN coats of clear till your happy with the shine and smoothness of the body..... to about I's say 2,200 grit, and your paint jobs would be as smooth and as glossy as Dale's! Some people (I bet Dale does) goes even higher then 2,200 grit....Hobby Lobby has grit pads that go int I think 4,000 grit!
But Dale has a hold on this one! Does a damn fine job........

Very evil looking car really love the engine detailing. And killer paint job. Really wish I could get my paint job's to shine like that. You can do it mate, as John has already pointed out, it is all in the preparation though, wet sand your under coat, if it aint perfect, re coat and do it again. Wet sand your clear, and then re-clear it, but i never use anything other than 2000 grit, for the between coats, and used 2000 grit for the final wet sand, then a very good auto polish, i use AUTOGLYM resin polish, but Maguires wet look is also good. Its all down to practice mate, but you CAN do it, and thanks too mate, appreciate it.

Good GAWD Dale, you only use 2,000 grit? WOW!!!!!!! I normally started out with 1,000 or maybe in a pinch 1,200.....I guess thats a secret in itself. one thing for sure tho. with 2,000 grit, you sure AREN'T going t sand off details to quickly! NICE! But yes Mikey, you CAN do it, just takes practice and patients! I got a body that I'm messin with thats an old Die Cast model, of a '69 Charger R/T (Was a former General Lee) BUT I got it BEAT to pieces and I'm making it other then a General Lee......OVER done model, needless to say, but the metal in the die cast body is so damned grainy it isn't funny....Its an old casting too so that doesn't help but like I said with the wet sanding this thing has been buffed down now, 6 or 8 times and I got more to do! As I'm trying to get the body as smooth as I can! Ironically its gonna be the same color as my 5'7 Chrysler 300......With a bit of a twist thos on the die cast model......BUT thats on hold.....I have to sort out the engine and frame first..... As I'm not happy with the engine that came with it (as you could have guessed) but, that and the work the frame needs itsa broken in half in the rear most part about right where the rear axle is.....NOT model parts its all molded into the frame. But till I'm ready.....It sets, I got a few others to mess with for now! I justgot to get my head out of me ass after the 300 is done and get moving! Dale your reply has inspired me to have a tromp through Hobby Lobby....... I am gonna find those sanding pads that goes up into the 4,000 grit range! thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

Don, I sprayed some silver over the black, then put the red over the silver, then to tidy up the line I resprayed the black down the edge of the stripe to make it more uniform and tidy, if that makes sense mate.
