OK - the list isn't very long or distinguished, but here we go from the start - I also love to customize my cars... probably as a result of all the fun I had as a kid building models and making them my own:
1982 Mustang GL - first car, bought in Alamogordo, New Mexico while I was stationed at Holloman AFB:
1985 Nissan 4x4, bought in SLC, UT after returning from Izmir, Turkey and discovering the Mustang hadn't liked being stored for so long. I had a LOT of fun with this truck:
1978 K5 Blazer, after the Nissan started having major issues - my wife hated this truck, so I only had it for 8 months:
1980 Jeep CJ-7 - since my wife hated the Blazer, I got the Jeep while she was in Korea (it didn't stay like that very long):
A few years later, she decided I needed another truck, so I found this '85 Nissan King Cab for cheap and got it back into running order - didn't do much to it except make it nicer than it was:
In '99, she decided I needed a "New" truck since I'd gotten a big raise at work, so I sold the Nissan and found this 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 online in Albuquerque:
15 years is a long time to own a truck and not do a lot to it... it helps when you really like the truck how it was when you bought it. The only thing missing from this pic is the Westin Bull Bar I added about 5 years ago:
After a friend blew up the engine in 2006, I bought his 1995 Civic VX for only $800, repaired it, made it nice, and drove it for 3.5 years:
In 2010, I wanted a project car and decided on a 1971 Mach 1 - here's what I bought, even though I should've held out for a better car:
And finally, after ONLY 15 years, my wife decided I needed a "New" truck again. There was nothing wrong with my '97 Ram - it only has 140K miles, still looks good, and still runs like a champ. But, I caved and bought a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Lone Star:
As I said, I like to customize: the Jeep and the Mustang are my "toys" these days, and the Mustang needed some major restoration. Here's where they are at this point in time:
And here's the Mustang at this past October's car show put on by Goodfellow AFB:
Here's a link to my Facebook album, for those interested in seeing just how bad the Mustang was, and all the gory details in getting it back together (shouldn't need to log into FB to view): www.facebook.com/eric.hansen.50/media_set?set=a.722153737795547.100000027814872&type=3
