JB, I'm so glad you put that picture up there. I have brass linkage like Ice used and for the life of me I couldn't figure how to hook it up on sideways carburetors. This is the best picture I have seen and I have looked at many, and listen, Iceman did a fine job hooking that photo etched linkage up anyway at all. That stuff is well made but some kind of fiddly. I haven't had the nuts to try it yet.

Oh I agree! I know I couldn't do it Dennis lol. Like I said, I'm just trying to help out with some constructive criticism and maybe help others out in the process.

All help is appreciated jesse. Thank you. It's like I was mentioning to Dennis on another thread. I see something similar to what I'm building and I try, try being the key word there, to replicate it. Here's the pic I used for reference since I saw Edelbrock covers, I thought it would go. I know what I built still is not exact to his pic. It it's what I based the look on. So for additional help, what's the difference between the one you posted and this one? I plan on one day understanding at least a little more so I can increase my skill. If I can hook up this throttle spring, I'm sure I can manage to build something correct. Better do it before I lose my eyesight too. Oh, and does anyone know where I can buy more patience? I'm going to need more of that. Lol

Ha, as far as patience I can't help lol. The pic you posted uses Edelbrock carbs which are actually Carter AFB carburetors. The pic I linked to is Holley carbs turned sideways on the 671 blower, like what the kit parts are. I hope you understand that I'm trying to help and not in any way putting down what you've done here. The fact you got the linkage assembled and attached and then attached the return spring is mind boggling to me lol. My eyesight is pretty damn good, but I've never had any luck with those tiny photo-etch pieces.
I've just been around cars pretty all my life, been obsessed since before I can remember according to my parents lol. I don't claim to know it all but I like to research and I like to help people.

Oh I know and trust me, I'm all ears with this stuff. I ask Hemi questions all the time about...yup you guessed it. So I will also turn to you on future builds. I'm so dumb with this stuff all carbs look similar to me. I do have some Holley carbs in resin I've been wanting to use. They just look bigger than other and appear out of scale.

Jesse, please don't apologize and keep it coming. I need this kind of help from you as much as Iceman does or anybody else. I'm trying to build an engine just like the one with the high rise you posted only with big Holley 1100 carbs and I was going to put linkage on them but couldn't figure out how to hook up sideways carburetors. Now I have a much better idea of what to do, even though I still don't know if I can do it. Thank you for all the input you can give.

Ice, GAWD man. I feel awful! I missed all of this! NICE job on the valve cover "fins".....THEN the carb linkage and even the set up for fuel lines. WOW!
NICE work so far, what more you have planned?

This one just kept staring at me from the corner. Although the plan was to go with a dark maroon in color, its just looked finished to me. So I'm calling it. Maybe I'll bring it back to the booth for paint but for now, it's going in the shelf. Here's the teaser and look for more in the finished section.

This -----^ your orange one?
That looks GREAT in bare primer! (Reminds me of the real one I have, when my Dad was working on it) so.....Just the real one doesn't have a MONSTER 427 in it, its got a 307......
The red steelie rims go well with it too!

Not the same one. Same kit built two different ways. This is the second one.
