Santa is the BEST!!! I have been wanting to build this particular kit for some time. No challenges issued, so I think I will build it box stock, with some added engine / interior details of course
Thanks Santa!!!!!

Gonna start tearing into it this week, thinking a nice satin black, and a wide, bright gloss red stripe down the center and around the back quarter panels and trunk lid. Black and red interior with a nice burgundy flocking for carpet. I want to have a go at adding seat belts for this one also. I may have some chrome red striping I could use for the window / door trim. My wife uses it on her nails, and I think it would be perfect. If it works, I will post what it is, thinking you super pro's would be able to utilize it for so much more I believe I also have a set of Cragar rims and tires I can use on this as well, possibly throw the skinny 70's on the front, and some fat ole NASCAR slicks on the back.

That striping your wife uses on her nails, i got about 20 colors for $5.00, it works well, just be careful if you clear coat over it, as it can bleed a bit if it gets too wet. Your plan sounds great too mate.

Well - 2.5 months later - it is time to get building what Santa brought. I MUST FIRST APOLOGIZE TO WHOM EVER WAS MY SANTA - I feel so bad about not finishing this, hell, for not even starting the darn thing! JB and myself are gonna get after these builds! Gonna go a different direction with colors I think, not too sure.
LET THE SANDING BEGIN JB - paint and glue will be a flying!!!!!

Got the room put together some more, and finally washed the parts and laid them out to dry and study
Got some paint flying - racing green, then a green metal flake finish is what I am thinking. Was gonna try to do something custom, but I kind of thought to just go box stock. Not sure if the white stripe decals are coming, they never cover well. I do have some left over black stripes I may consider, hmmmmmm......
Oh Yeah - here is a tidbit of the progress for the new room. More updates on this as I get more organized
Bad picture, I know. BUT - we went and got new phones this weekend, so I am turning my Galaxy S4 into the hobby camera. Faster loading the pics up to photobucket. No worries though, when it comes time for the finished pictures, the camera will come out - kickin it old school baby!!! Lol

Making some progress, gonna keep after it!! Not sure about the whole metallic green finish coat, this base green racing coat, (from Tamiya), looks pretty good. Thoughts? Keep it this green and just do the Baldwin Motion decals?....... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon

You're moving right along bud! I haven't gotten a chance to do much yet, have to do some wet sanding before I go any further lol. I like that green and would just decal it if it was mine.

I know your right 44, usually dark colors come through white stripes. they did on the red Camaro I built. That's why I am debating the whole stripes thing. I have done the double decal thing before myself, usually the only way to keep dark colors from showing through white decals
I will have to see if I can get a an extra set off eBay maybe. Hmmm..... thinking-hard-smiley-emoticon
Ugh, sanding, I know the pain JB, I know the pain! LOL Cant wait to see some pics bud!!

I decided to go the extra mile and add a couple light coats of metallic green, I think it looks pretty good...
Then I got a little off, I thought, hmmmm, maybe I could drill out the kit distributor with my tiny, tiny, super duper, holy crap those are tiny drills I got off eBay awhile back Um, Nope.... Basically I accomplished ruining the distributor
Then I thought to myself, "Self - You have those pre-wired distributors - you know, the ones the pro's use" So I changed drills to a 1.75ml and drilled out the block. TADA!!!
AAWWW YEAH BOYEE!!! Look out now, CC is finally learning!!! Hey - wait - you smell that? NOW IM COOKING WITH GAS!!!!!
Decided all black is just not where its at, so she's gonna get some green turf!!
Seats and doors ready for detailing and installing once the turf is dried
Got me a three pak set of those gelly pens at hobby Lobby today - great tip Big D, they work good! I detailed the grill, the SS is white, also doctored up the rims

Very. Ice. Good job on the detailing. Where did you get the drill bits. I have an incomplete set that I got with some tools I bought from an ex builder. Haven't seen it anywhere.

I love those bits. Good buy on these too. I've been using them for years, the only thing about them being carbide they are brittle and the small ones break so easy. You have to go slow and drill straight. I haven't used a conventional bit in a long time. Always use these. Best thing to use for modeling. Haven't seen them in a big set like this for a long time. Very good price too. I have maybe 30 packs of them but they are all 10 bits each.
