I pulled this kit out a few months ago to build as a low rider, and was so disappointed with the kit i put it back in disgust. Then a few weeks ago, i had a brain wave, (don't happen very often i tell you.). Why not build it for what it is good for. THE STORY". Junior was always in the back ground, he could not afford a car of his own, like all his other mates, the best he could do was borrow his mums 57' Chev on the odd occasion. Then he got a casual job down the local Garage, fixing tyres, pumpin' gas, nothing special but it was a slow stream of cash coming in each week. Then he would tune his moms car, on the sly he fitted a 4bbl to it, she wont notice, just keep putting a bit more fuel in it on the sly. This gave him a bit more street cred when he did manage to borrow the old girl. Then the exhaust "needed doing", so on went a pair of stainless mufflers, she sounded better and went a little faster, just pay half the bill, Mom wont know. Then he got a set of wide rear wheels and some slicks, he would put them on Saturday night, have a race or two, then change them over before going back home that night. This worked well for a while, UNTIL................................................. WHAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!Where the hell did he come from.........??
The game was up, the car was totaled , and he was found out. The old girl was parked in the hay shed, and went no further. And what i am using. An all it is good for.

Guess mom had to find out at some point. Lol. Look at you all over the place with your builds. Slammed for such a long time, then a stock fairlane and now this? You're going to end this year big!

Great story and good way to utilize this kit. Front damage looks good. I sure hope he didn't hit a police/constable's car in that accident. jaw-dropping-smiley-emoticon

Thanks guys, Iceman, i try to stay out of that little box that people usually try to stay inside of, i like to build a bit different to most, mainly to keep myself interested. Well, after afew years things got sold or robbed of the poor ol small block, and was just never loved. And thanks Dennis.

Thanks Mike, the engine is one of those that come with all the detailed heads, block, crank etc, so it was pretty easy to do.

Thank you very much men, got a little further down the road with this one. Trying to slowly build up the weathering, PITA really, but getting there. Its hard to get the head around spending soooo much time painting something that looks like it should be in the bin. Added some BMF, only to paint over most of it or remove bits aswell.

Your weathering is looking great! I don't see the trunk lid or doors, are you using them or were they stolen too? Missing trunk lid and junk detail would be cool!
