...Would be further along, but I had some paint issues with the body and some interior parts. They are in the pond right now...] What do you guys use in "the pond" ? I use Simple Green full strength, but it doesn't seem to be as effective now as it use to be....or maybe Im just getting more impatent! lol. Alan, I use "Purple Power" degreaser from the auto parts store, same as Castrol Super Clean. Depending on what the paint is on the parts, it sometimes may take a couple days to totally remove it all. I usually give it at least 12 to 24 hours.

Thanks Skip! I'll try some purple power today!
Thanks Frank! I do have a Dollar General close by. Sounds like it's cheaper than Simple Green too!

I never knew Simple Green would strip paint!?
I will say, the REAL "Pine Sol" will too, BUT for whatever reason if your not careful the Pine Sol WILL soften the plastic if left in it to long! I used to use it on the train bodies that were die cast. left in it for days in some cases, one was really old and it spent a MONTH in Pine Sol to dilute the paint from the die cast, but, it did it! I even have a "Stripping tank" for that process! I made it!

Wow! sorry I Hijacked your thread. but thr purple power worked much better than simple green and at 5 bucks from general dollar makes it about half the price! Ghanks for the tip!

Okee dokee, another update. Pics kind of suck but not too bad. Starting to sweat whether I'll get this done in time, but I'll fight it to the end. Have the chassis together and all the body and interior pieces in prime. Started painting interior stuff and the body just needs a final quick sand and look over, then off to paint. Have the firewall and front inner fenders painted body color already.

A little bit more done. Waiting on paint drying, so while I take a little break and get something to eat I'll post this update. All the body parts are painted and cleared, just need to do a little BMF and that part is done. Working on finishing the interior now. I will be up late tonight and up early tomorrow to try and beat the deadline. There's a chance I'll get this done, a slim chance, but a chance all the same. I think I can do it as long as I'm not confronted with any major issues or disruptions. Anyway, blah, blah, blah, here is a pic to gaze your eyes upon. Yeah, I know it doesn't look much different than the white primer, other than it's shiny now. Oh, and I think it ran into a zebra somewhere.

OK folks, here are a couple pics of the interior. I'm finishing the build now, and will be posting in the finished threads. Oh, I'll throw in a sneak peek of it done too. This build was my first venture into using flocking for the interior and using stencils with the airbrush for the zebra stripes.

That top of yours is just beautiful, Skip....oh and on the car too.
I'm curious to know how'd you paint them on? These are nice tricks I like to hear about.

Thanks for noticing Joel, it's the gynecomastia that made.....oh the roof on the car. I used the airbrush and a stencil from AirSick. It's from the small animal patterns set. Kind of a pain over a contoured surface like that. Had to clamp it on one edge and hold the other end down with my thumb/finger while airbrush with other hand. A masking/tape stencil would be far better, but it turned out pretty OK. I used 1/16" masking tape to simulate the seams in the fabric. Did the same thing on the door panels and seat, only I had to go back and touch up with a paint brush on those. Really like how the door panels turned out, but the seat, meh, not so much.
