I would like to add a Cooters tow truck to my Dukes of Hazzard models. It could be a new kit, built, or missing parts. Or if I could find a set of duallie wheels out of a Monogram F350 duallie kit I could use them on one of my old Chevy pick up kits, along with a wrecker bed and set of decals. I have stuff to trade or I could pay cash. Please let me know. Thanks!

Hey Alan. So from my understanding he had a different truck every season. Which one are you looking for?

I know that the first 2 episodes had a '72 GMC.....AFTER that, I lost track of what they had him in as far as tow truck is concerned!

I think the General was the only car that they really triied to pin a year down on. There's a Cooters Garage in Nashville with a tow truck out front. I plan to loosly base my build on that truck I'll post some pic's of it as I'm going there tomorrow

Jesse, What year of GMC/Chevy is that? Difficult to say as I can't see the grille! BUT, it looks DAMN close to the one Cooter had in the beginning of the show!
I know it was as tho "the boys" were ALWAYS wrecking the thing for ole Cooter to get out of a fix, they got themselves in! When he was good enough to lend it to them for a legit reason!

Yeah, I wasn't sure who made it, I remember seeing them NOT new tho, I had a grille one time to fit that truck! Sadly, was THEE only part of the truck, I had! BUT I wasn't sure, if that was the only GMC that was made for that time frame or era..... Sadly, GMC wasn't one of those on my to hunt out and buy lists........

Jesse, Are you offering that truck for possible trade or purchase? Id be interested in it as well as possibly getting the duallie wheels from you. I took a picture of the truck in front of Cooters in Nashville this morning. The one there is a Chevy, but I seem to remember Cooter having GMC during the 1st season. Id have to drag out my season 1 DVD set to be sure. Anyway, the Midnite Cowboy wrecker I already have has the same wrecker parts as the truck I photographed this morning. I think the Midnite Cowboy was based on a general motors truck (either a Chevy or GMC) so Im thinking I could build it basiclly stock just swap out the cab and fenders, add a heavy duty push bar and put the correct set of duallie rims and tires on it. Then either find a set of original decals or have firebird designs make me a set.

That's pretty cool Alan! That looks like a '69 Chevy truck. They were pretty much the same up till '72, only changes were grills. Here's the dually wheels from the monogram f250 that I have. IMG_20141207_215821 by ratrodfanbobcat, on Flickr I can't believe they are still on the tree, the rest of that kit is a nasty looking glue bomb lol.

If your still looking there are some 70's gmc tow trucks on ebay.co.uk ,there's no search option for 1/25 on uk ebay but they are there. try searching 1/24 in the side bar and do a seperate search for model kit 1/25 to find them. they look close to your photo
