The old AMT kits had individual louver strips. For my custom 53 pickup I want to add some to the tailgate. Looking for 4 - 6 strips of them I had a small ziplock bag full of them but I can't find them for the life of me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys

I can't remember where I saw them, but someone reproduces them in resin. Here's a different kind though, and might even be better for you... www.archertransfers.com/AR88037.htmlIt says 6" O scale, but that'd be about 3 inches in 1/24 and they go on just like decals!

Thanks jesse. I added these to my favorites. I know I've seen them in resin too on ebay but nothin right now. If I don't find them I might just have to get these decals.
Hmmmm what if I cut them off the custom hood from the 49 Merc?? Might be another option if I don't find them.

One of my mags has an article about taking one of the train scale ladders and they fit perfect for louvers. I'll try to find it if you are interested.

If you have a Revell '32 5 window, you can graft those louvers on pretty easily and they're a little more defined than the merc ones. I'll get a pic of the hood I started doing how I mentioned.

I have used the Plastruct N scale styrene stairs #90661 for louvers. They are 6mm wide. Another source is Archer. These are like individual resin parts that come on decal strips. See pages 6&7 of thier catalog. They also have many styles of rivets. Haven't used them personally, but everything is 25% off in December.
