Greetings from the land of corn !
This is my first week back from a long 5yr vacation from slinging plastic. I basically got way too wrapped up in the contest builds, and got burned out. Too much effort trying to keep up with the jones's, especially when the jones's are professional car painters ! Grew up in Georgia, and got back into my "adult" phase of plastic around 1990. Moved to Albuquerque, NM and found a model car club there. About 4yrs ago we sold the house and moved to Nebraska. (wife's family is here) Not a whole lot of action around these parts, so my only modeling contacts will be web based for now.
I'm a Mopar guy, and stick mostly to box stock and factory stock builds, with the occasional street machine thrown in there.
On disability now because of diabetic complications (my eyes went to crap) so I figure I got all the time in the world to sling plastic now, and do it for myself, not to impress the locals at the contest tables. Besides, I can't do the level of detail I used to with my eyesight now, which is probably a good thing !
Mike

Welcome Mike. I'm a disabled vet and lost a leg to diabetes so I know where you are coming from. Modeling is all I do also. Can't wait to see your builds. Lot of Mopar guys in here. You'll love our resident expert he knows those Mopars and he's a hell of a nice guy and loves to have fun with modeling!

Welcome Mike. A lot of moving around for you but glad to hear you're back to building and are reconnecting with your skill. Can't wait to see more of your projects here. Get comfy. A few monthly contests but nothing to get worked up about. Take a look at the rules for anything you plan on entering to make sure all you bases are covered.

Welcome there Duster!! Nebraska huh? Just north of me, (I'm the east side of OKC - Midwest City, OK). Nice weekend weather got last weekend huh!! LOL Anyways, like the Ice said, get comfy and build away at your leisure. I myself am in NO WAY a pro like these guys are, but I try. Hell I barely made one deadline, and totally screwed the other! LOL But maybe, just maybe, I will get to building regular again. Can't wait to see some more builds, love that Petty build! Welcome again sir~!

Mike. WELL welcome to the world of plastic, glue, and paint! You'll love it here! All are great, and all happy to see what ya been buildin, and needless to say for me, another Mopar Maniac, is all the better.............LOVE the name! -As you'll find, all I model are in fact Mopar, AND those brand X if I have a Hemi, it'll power it just for the sake of protecting my rep! A lot of nice guys, good ole fun and building plus the sweet smell of paint....... NO glue tho.....A bit crazy some of us, (I speak for myself and poke and praud a few others.) No names being mentioned you'll find out soon enough LOL All in good fun, all joking aside one of the BEST model car forums online, not to mention not only a forum, but an actual "model car club"!!!!!! Welcome aboard! Whats your current project car or truck? (the other thing, we all LOVE seeing each others work!

Welcome Mike. The contests here are more for fun and sharing ideas. For me it also helps motivate me to find the time to actually get some builds finished, by giving me a dead line, but I don't worry if I don't make everyone of them either. This hobby is more for relaxation and enjoyment, not trying to dominate the world.

Ni, Ni !!! ha ha, yeah. I used to play with 4, 8, 10, 12, and 20 sided dice a lot too. I guess that might explain a lot of things about me. Oh, staring at your build does count as working on it.
