Well, it looks like alot of us have other hobbies as well. This scaletrix slot car track took me and my son about 3 years to complete, we did the original lay out, then slowly detailed a section at a time while we used it. The hills were made of bird wire then paper mache , and then detailed with grand stands, pit garage, bridges and billboards, which we made everything. Then, we cut up a 5 mtr roll of LED strip lighting, and lit up the whole track for night racing. It is going to be dismantled soon, as he has grown up and we do not use it any more, but instead, i am going to make a 1/24-25 scale town diorama, with work shops, speed shops, car lots and a drag strip aswell, ..........one day. From left to right, as it goes around the 3 walls of the room, and you do 2 full laps of the room before you complete 1 lap of the track.

You boys did a fine job on this Dale. Little grandstands and pits. I wish I was there to fire it up and kick your butt. It's really good you had this to do with your boy.

Most excellent and way cool Dale. I have always wanted to do something like that. I also want to build a 1/25-1/24 town for my models. Maybe someday.

Thanks guys, yes it was a lot of fun for a long time, but does not get used any more. The chick John, is an add for the good ol' Aussie Chiko roll, most of the signage and merchandise got pinched because of the style of adds they had. And it is regular 1/32 scale.

1/32 scale NOW theres one you don't hear much of anymore.......I've always heard it called "Slot Car scale". GAWD, Dale thats funny, you know in the basement of a local store in Pennsylvania, where I grew up, was a J.J. Newbury's, department store, and in their basement was an Adam & Eves Pet and Hobby shop on one side (SOME name I know, owners tho were Adam and Eve, they still have a store in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, last I knew) But anyway, on the other side of this basement from their store was slot car track open to the public, almost like a Roller skating rink..... A few guys all the time in there running those cars till the electric motors smelled like they were in the brink of burning up! LOL I'll never forget that store, used to visit the hobby shop all the time GAWD, thinking of all the money I spent in that place........ WAY before I was ever married tho..... Good times I tell ya good times, I was at one time way back when, gonna built a slot car "train" just an engine to see how it do on the track across the way. never did do it tho. kinda still wonder on that one every now and again!
