I'm trying to get back to the bench for this. I did manage to do a quick mockup of the front end.

NICE! I take it the trucks gonna be yeller? The yellow accents look GREAT! My only addition would be to paint the plugs you have them yellow, to gloss white, and then paint the middle of the ribs on the valve cover the same yellow, and remove the yellow from just the "tops" of the ribs on the valve covers..... inside of the outer most 2 ribs! THEN if you wanted some "offset" paint just the tops of those ribs with gloss black! LEAVE the "flat" area on the valve cover alone incase you want to add a decal.....Number of the engine size would go GREAT in that center location "392".....OR "HEMI" in black lettering..... UNLESS your lettering is white then paint that "flat" area, black too!

This is so cool Ice - am totally loving it, kind of like it just the way it is - in primer. Has a cocky look to it I must build me one, I MUST!!! I know I have one of these kits opened, would not be as custom as yours, but still I think I could make it cool!! I just gotta get these holidays put in the back pocket so I can start like 85 projects!!! LOL
But am totally loving this build sir!!!!!!!

Everything looking good Ice. The only thing I'm on the fence of is the yellow engine details, but I don't really know what your completed vision is. popcorn-and-drink-smiley-emoticon

Thanks guys. Yeah Skip, I'm still trying to convince myself on it. Might go back to just giving it a black wash.

Here ya go Ice....I did some fancy photoshop with MS Paint.... NOTICE where I added "yellow" and thats a color match right from your own picture! I then too the plug boots and made them black, not yellow....As these would not be "plugs" themself at all....Remember the spark plug, in a Hemi, is DEEP within the center of the head....There is a stiff, "boot" and seal that comes out of the center of the top of the valve cover, UNLIKE a regular head on a wedge type motor, you can see the plug, and where it turns into........ and then the boot that holds the plug wire onto the plug...

Ice Ted's has nice engine decal sheets, several different ones from Slixx, for only $1.92 a sheet. www.tedsmodelingmarketplace.com/brands/SLIXX.htmlThis build is really coming along very well and you've done a fine job with the engine. I hate it you took off the yellow though. This would have really looked fine with a yellow engine and green wheels! SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol @ Dennis. No green tires for this one and no funky color combos, I've decided. We're hosting Thanksgiving this year. While the wife and daughter are busy ion the kitchen I am tucked away in the garage working on this baby. I already took care of what I was responsible for. So I wasn't planning on detailing this one so much but I Saw the PE parts that came with the Gibson engine and I got to researching a bit. I'm working on it as we speak but I was so excited that I pulled this off. Might not be 100% accurate due to missing nuts and bolts or whatever, but I think I got it just right. I'm like a little kit right now, "Look what I can do!" haha. I tried sharing with the fam but they dont see what all the fuss is about lol so I want to share it with you guys. Here are some closeup pics. I'm patting myself on the back for this one. Now I feel like I have to keep running lines everywhere. Oh the body is in the paint booth drying as we speak also. Those pics coming this weekend.

I see a little improvement with everyone of your builds. This is great! You did it just right too. What is the clip you used from the scoop that you hooked your rod into. It looks perfect! I want to make one just like it. Fine job Cool Breeze! Good look on the plug wires too! looks real and it doesn't get better than that. Cool looking plugs too. You know, hooking up throttle linkage like this is something I haven't done yet and it is the next thing I had planned to learn to do. I really would like to know what materials you used and how you did it.

Thank you so much, Dennis. Those comments make me want to keep working on this. This is my first one for a blower so I'm pretty proud of it. When I finished it and took off my magnifying glasses I was like cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon The pieces with the blue tint are PE parts that came with the Gibson engine pictured below. The piece holding the clip on the hat is a the end of a pin. Drilled a small hole and stuck it in there with some CA glue. Gut the extra piece. The rest of the rods are fitting lines from Detail Master. It's their Brake/Fuel lines #1 which are .020 in diameter. I would put it through the hole and bend it at a 90 degree angle and clip it. Added some CA glue so it wouldn't slide off.

That looks a lot better Ice, i personally am not a fan of paint on blowers, but that is just me. Throttle linkages and plug holders really make this engine stand out, great job, i can never make this small stuff work, i keep losing it on the floor.

Thanks Ice, I have 12 of the Gibson kits and plenty of the DM rod so I'm in business. I also have plenty of DM linkages and looms.

lookin good Ice! That interior is simple... sure BUT, it looks GREAT......And I don't mean "simple" in a bad way, sometimes "less" is more? Simple meaning, you kept the "bling" factor down, as well as the colors.....Which won't take away from the outside of the model and being a black one, black, really is a tricky color to paint, SPECIALLY a body.....It shows flaws like nothing else on the planet, and I think from what I can see of the cab, you got that trick pretty good....
First coat or no? I'd wet sand it one more time and let it have a good "color" coat, BEFORE the clear coat if any is added!
These were resin cabs, yes?

Thanks John. I sprayed automotive acetate for clear and just couldn't get it to set properly. The cab for example was nice and glossy on top but the doors would end up flat or vice a versa. A bit tricky. I used good old Rustoleum clear out of a can like I usually do. Looks beautiful. That picture was before the spray can. Will be able to take it out of the shelf tomorrow to see how it dries. May need another coat.
Oh and this isn't a resin cab. It's the plastic one from the kit. The only resin one is the chopped one for the custom. Different thread though.

Looks good Ice! I knew I had seen at least one that was resin and wasn't sure which was which after paint was applied so....I had to ask!
