Ice, I tell ya I know a all aluminum 610 would go in this one NICE! as thats a lotta engine space to fill! AND by the looks of it, the hole in the hood if the height was done just right, would be the place for a smooth type blower hat just to get a "brow" above the hood line......Kinda like a "peek" you know?

Yeah! I know exactly what you mean. If I can get that engine together it might work. I think that's the challenge. I know I don't have the skill to scratch build it. I have the resin Gibson 392 Hemi in line for it for now. But anything can change.

Well I put the Gibson engine together. I'm starting to think I'm going to cast this engine. So easy to work with and fits with a few other future projects.

Now it looks better Iceman! Uneven on the bottom? By means of the oil pan not fitting flush on all 4 sides? OR? ? It looked to sit pretty flat on your green pad so........ Got to be an oil pan fitting uneven-ness! I see the pic you posted of the Green putty (THATS good stuff!) BUT only second to modeling with actual "Bondo".....Bondo I have found is the strawberry. BUT the Squadron putty is good stuff.....BE SURE to "seal it" BEFORE you paint ANYTHING over that, it will "flash" at you to say Hi I need MORE paint to seal it to keep a nice smooth surface! BUT anyway the smallest container of Bondo OMG, a QUART! smileyCAELY0UD_zps3cc8a166 YEAH I got one..... or several. LMAO, I just don't use it for model work, its also good for wood work on items NOT being stained or polyurethaned, painted surfaces its GREAT for making smooth when your doing something that is painted already or gonna be so... Also teaching my Wife how to use and for what purposes she can use it on her art projects....SO, the amount is justified! Anyway Ice, I have to say, I "see" the oil pan for that 392, and honestly, thats a DRAG RACING part, NOT for street use.....A simple "ding" in real life, 10 or more quarts of oil all over da road, and the Hemi isn't gonna run long!

Yeah the oil pans not on it yet because of the gap that it would leave one one side and/or would cause it to slightly tilt to one side. I have a tube of bonds but it takes longer to cure and its shrunk on m before. I'm happy with this putty. No issues yet. The Walmart primer seems to seal it every time I laid primer on the engine. I wanted a very thin layer of it so I used Alclad filler n primer for this one. Drilled out the holes for the plugs and distributor.

I really like the Ross Gibson engines and have quite a few of them. Usually they are not too far off center and you can put like 400 grit sandpaper on a flat hard surface and gently put the engine parts on it and rub it and check it often and take out any irregularities without having to use putty. Almost every mating surface on those engines has to be sanded a little in this way. No fault with your way just my 2 cents. I'm always trying to find the easiest way and save time.

Thanks Dennis, Skip and John. Yup on the casting. All in one piece? I'd simply like to cast a few of those valve covers and heads!!!!!!!!!!!! Just to make up something a bit different from what I already have for the 392, and really, I have to admit, I ain't got much in the way of 392's.........SO, I'm actively searching out other "looks" options, just to have something a little different then what seems to be the normal for a 392 Hemi from yesteryear.....

Oh no, of course not all in one piece, Hemi. Each part. I had a bit of silicone left but it was old and didn't mix well so I'm just waiting on a tub of it to start.
Thank JM. I hope it does.

Thanks guys. This one is still waiting for more work. I have a pro street build in mind for next year and I think those rims and tires will go great with it so I'm changing over to these. Still using EFX MAS parts. The rear sleeves are the resin ones I have in my eBay store. They fit perfectly into the rear tires from the kit.

Well now that the first 53 pickup is done in coming back to this one. Just some small updates since I spent most of the time gathering the left over parts from the other one. For this one here I'm trying to blend in the from grill housing with the fenders. See how it goes. Added the clips to the front so I can test out the flipping action. And finally added the firewall.

Haven't gotten that far with this one yet. I don't think I'll go stock with this one as I want all three 53s to look different. I have a couple of custom ones that might fit though. There will be test shots for sure.

CHROME 392... that looks SWEET!
Gonna do any sheen changes to toss off the "all chrome" look, or no? A bit of dullcote on say the heads would make that look as tho it has "Aluminum" heads......On an all chrome engine, OR a polished aluminum engine!
NICE work so far Ice!
