This is a rebuilder. I forgot to take pics of the before, darn it! I'm going to try to go stock with this. Difficult for me to do but I plan to get rid of his one after it's done and stock sells better so. It's a Jo-Han kit by the way.

Thanks guys. Won't go with black. Lol. I have a 65 that's black. I'm thinking a sand color. Light tan? Good enough for a stock color I think.

Thanks guys. It looks ok. Not wanting to spend too much time on this one. A brown interior, snap on the stock tires and wheels and off to ebay.

Thanks mike. Yes sir, John. I'm almost done and I might just end up keeping it after all. Here's what it looks like. I had more parts for it than I thought. Side mirrors and hood emblem were in the box. The windshield needs some works as it scratched and super dirty. I don't want to make a new to attempt to keep all original parts and well, frankly I don't think I can lol. The tired do need a scrubbing this week before going on.

Pretty much. Fixing old windows is a lot of work. You have to sand a lot then polish and repeat u til you get it clear. The sanding is the hardest part. I would normally just get another kit just for the windshield, but no way I'm paying for one of these if I'm. It keeping it. Lol more el ow grease in the next few days.

Why not try using a high gloss clean coat over the scuffs? You have polyurethane, I've head works, I've in the past even used Testors glosscote through the air brush and it did really well too! BUT you have to get it smooth for it to dry/cure over shiny and be "clear"....
I've also heard floor polish will do it too! Not sure how that works tho.....

Yeah but that's the last step. Cuz think about it. If you out clear on a scratched surface you still see the scratches.

Yeah but if the scratch is smoothed over, it shouldn't show at all! BUT that requires a bit of rubbing to get it to smooth over, depending on how deep it is!

Iceman, doesn't the Novus scratch remover work for you? I get great results with it. I've had to hand sand things for 30 yrs and I hate to sand any more than I have to. It would drive me nuts taking out scratches with just sand paper, but if it works for you, do whatever works, and my hat is off to you son.
