Well I'm going to kick this off. I probably wont actually start it until after the 4th but I figured I'd share and get the juices flowing. Here is what I'll be working with. Was saving this one for a rainy day but looks like that day is now...even if it isn't raining.

Well Ice, it's been raining here where I am for the past three days so I'll authorize the use of your rainy day save.

So good news and bad news. First the good news - for a vintage MPC kit the body had almost no flash at all. It's prepped and ready for primer. The bad news - all the flash is on the rest of the parts. Haha! Oh boy! Now to decide the color......

We had a little bit of rain, you know that exact amount to not wet the grass, but enough to dirty the cars? Yeah!

All I needed was a little motivation. I'm on fire! I found out today I have to head out to Irvine, Ca for work next week so I want to get as much done as I can on this one this weekend. I started the engine. A distributor and some stacks from Detail Masters that will be used. I think I found the color. Testor's one coat lacquer - Revving Red (I love this brand) Should have the engine done before I fly out.

Looking pretty good there. Irvine? I hate that place. My motherinlaw lives in neighboring Orange and we always seem to go out there in the summer time, and the weather is always perfect, and we get used to it, then when we get back to Florida and walk out of airport in Tampa, the humidity is like getting hosed by a glue gun.

Irvines not too bad for me. The weathers great, always. This is a business trip so everything's paid. If it weren't for all the meetings I have to attend it would be a perfect trip. Well I've picked the secondary color. Thought about blue, but didn't want a patriotic build since MOTM had that theme already. I think this works well. Maybe a stripe down each side of the body? Not sure yet. Polished the sleeves i was going to use. Read somewhere how to make photo-etch parts shine. The rear sleeves are from Detail Masters. Very hard to find and expensive when you do. Luckily I won a set off eBay for $8 and the guy said he had five more sets he'd let me have for the same price. SCORE! Front sleeves are chrome vanity rings from my parts box And since I had the orange out I sprayed some on the wheels too and detailed them. Hope they look good so I don't have to respray them.

They're pretty close. Ad that leaves me two other aluminum sleeves for another build since I didn't use all four. SCORE!

I don't know. Maybe you didn't use your imagination. Hehe. I built a van for my daughter as well a couple of years ago. As a matter of fact while on vacation she mentioned it was falling apart and didn't want it anymore and was going to throw it away. I'm not sure what she was going to say next but I said, "no you're not!!!" Lol. I've been wanting to chop one up to turn into a hot rod van but didn't want to spend the $30+ for this kit. I'm sure you can turn one into a pro street VW van.
But anyways, the rims? Some clown from this forum send them to me. Quite popular lately, I hear, lol.
